Airpots

I use 10 liter airpots and eventually, roots will come out of the bottom but never the sides. I suspect its maybe watering, but I don't know...any ideas anyone?

Those air pots are air pruning your roots. That's what they are designed to do.

yep its called air pruning, where the holes are covered up you will get roots showing like the bottom

I understand that, but they never come out of the sides, and there is loads of space where the roots should be

They come out the bottom a bit because it stays moist in the space under the pot.......not near the moisture on the sides.

thanks, anyone know how I can get better rooting? its a problem that's been consistent through all my grows

I had to buy some recently and I learned that there's air pots and air pots, the 1st ones I bought had smaller holes at the top and got bigger lower down, the ones I bought recently have holes all the same size top to bottom and 1" taller (annoying AF, the 1ltr ones are lighter guage and a bit flimsy compared to the old original ones.
They'll work just the same but they aren't as user friendly for keeping coco in the pot.

There amazing pieces of kit, I see them as an investment/upgrade rather than just a pot.

Original Air Pots is the only way to go.

2 weeks from sprout in a 1ltr air pot.

I suggest covering them with pantyhose to prevent fungus gnats from getting in the holes.

Same pots as mine. Your roots are miles better though and your plant looks bigger than mine eould after 2 weeks
