Airpots Anyone?

Wats up guys, I just realized today that the leaves were getting all "clawed" on my plant cuz the roots were growing out the bottom of the airpot and into the plastic bag underneath. I just put the pot in a giant bowl for now and filled the bottom with water so the roots could draw moisture to the plant. What do you guys think I should do to permanently fix the problem? Also it is a 2 gallon airpot and I've heard of people finishing flowering in 1 gal. so idk why this would happen. Anyone?

Hey bud! I have actualy flowered a plant in a cup of soil once to c if it could b don. The roots are going to grow as long as they can. The longer a root is the better chance it has of soaking up water because some places in the soil might be dryer than other spots. When you are growing in a container the roots grow around, down, up and every wich way. Roots are going to grow. If It becomes crowded the roots are going to grow threw te container if it is weak enough. Most soil users use plastic so its not a problem but with air pots dont b suprised if something pokes its way through. As long as the roots poking through stay healthy then no wories :) butif they do rot then... cut um off!!!! >:O lolz but yea.. seriously just cut them off. If you have enough roots that ur having problem with roots coming out then uve done a good job and the roots insid r thriving. If u chop off afew roots it will be perfectly fine. Wont even stun the plant.

I don't grow with air pots but i understand them well. i don't think you have a problem, the roots should air prune themselves underneath as well. I often trim roots in an aero cloner if they get too long, just busts 4 more from above. I don't know if that helps.

If you hadn't gotten bags involved and you place the bottom of the airpot piece 2 inches from the bottom the roots would have been air pruned instead of growing out the bottom. Transplant into bigger container or bury airpot a little in a larger container or just cut the roots off
