look for the air pot club thread.. - in short yea they are worth it. i use the smart part variety and they seem to work great. my auto flowers are twice the size this go around.. but im also using a different soil. Still the proof is out there, and the verdict is in. they work.

Air root pruning pots create a very healthy root structure and that makes a big difference in what occurs above the soil. But like any pot, don't pick small pots. Far too many people grow in undersized pots and do not realize how bad that is for plants. Plants 'want' to have a 50/50 balance between above soil growth and below soil growth, meaning of course roots. A plant when given proper growing conditions will have as much mass/plant matter below the soil as above the soil, though of course it will be in a totally different form. That will make for a happy healthy vibrant vigorous well producing plant. If you go not allow your plants the room for roots they need then your plants will never achieve all they can achieve. If you use smaller pots you may still do well, and you might be darn impressed with your results, but the results would have been better using a proper sized pot, of any kind, and an air root pruning pot will only make things even better.
