air injection in soil

this has come up a couple times with mixed feelings. I've always thought putting an airstone in the bottom of a soil pot could help with overwatering. Just need to be careful, if it dries out too much the air will dry out the roots.

Yeah thought of that myself. Perhaps a closed bucket with a drain plug would do much better than a pot that self drains as I can see that drying out fairly quickly.

I'm defintley intereated in it and seeking more info.

I have also been thinking about this for a while. I will do a side by side comparison in the coming weeks. I will post it to grow journals.

I have no experience with this but you could time it. The air pump cuts on 1 time every hour or so for 15 minutes or less depending on timer. To help from drying out soil. Or just run pump as you water

you can do it if you want but it's a waste of time, ambient air is roughly 20-21% oxygen, you are bubbling ambient air into, umm ambient air...sure its soil but air is air.
soooo yeaaaah..
it's not an aquarium where the water can only have so much oxygen..
think about it...
