I've got four grows using the same activated carbon in my filter canister and things are getting a wee bit funky around here. In between grows and gonna refill the filter with fresh stuff. Filter is a ven Tec, about a foot long so shouldn't need much carbon. Where do you folks get your refill carbon from?

I just buy new filters every few years mine are about 4 1/2 ft long I’d rather not refill them

Buy the right grade and size activated carbon and pack it on some kind of vibrating table. This is assuming you dont need a rivit gun to open and close it up after. Use to be a few hydro companies that offered refill services but mainly the cost is down to how cheap the carbon comes in at.

Easier to just buy a new one :-)

Hey bro...so I have a smell issue. I have a 6” vortex sline (347 CFM) and a phresh filter (6x16 - 400 CFM).

I’ve read that some other growers had an issue similar to this but needed to reduce the speed of the fan and that worked. Do you believe that is a possibility - The fan is pulling the air thru the filter too fast before it scrubs the air, therefore creating the smell outside the box?

The box is sealed except for the intake holes. The intake holes suck air in fairly well so I don’t think the smell is leaking from there.

Where are you venting to? You want to have a negative pressure in the room/tent to prevent leaks.

If you run humidifiers that might cause problems maybe, any filter i ever got had a generous cfm range and worked almost too well.

Maybe your fan cfm is lower than its rated cfm with ducting and bends possibly.

They do a good job at cleaning a smokey room too :-)
