air cooled tube necessary

Hey guys. I signed a lease and have a 2 bedroom with a 4x4 closet (will be living alone). I'm going to get a 3x3 tent and will grow in it. I decided 3x3 because I should be able to do 4 plants, and 5 is a felony in my state, though the lease says the landlord must give 3 days notice before showing up.

Is an air-cooled hood necessary or will just venting the tent be enough? I'm lucky, there's a hold in the wall, about 7.5 inches total I'm gonna get a piece of cardboard and cut the center out and vent into the wall. Will that be okay or will it cause mold problems?

Its hilarious how they say 5 plants is a felony, when you could have five tiny little midget things or four 4 foot wide six foot tall monsters. (well, you couldn't in that space but anyway) Yes a cool tube is a great thing for a small space. EDIT: well you could, just use that entire spare bedroom, I would!

5 plants a felony = Illinois so hell yeah air cooled,you gonna need the coolest room ever,cause a lot of heat coming from a house early summer is suspicious.I live in Chicago so the same rules apply,the only difference is i'm growing outside and stealthier.

might want to invest in a dimmable ballast too. gets pretty hot in the summer, depending on where you live. just would make your life easier to turn down to 400 watts when/if heat becomes a problem.

As far as the whole spare bedroom, not an option. I would be happy with 6 ounces from 4 plants. that'll last me 4-5 months. However, as soon as I finish one grow I would have to start another lol.

Do not get a cooltube, get a big, cooled reflector
A dimmable ballast sounds like a good idea too, just in case of heat and also you do not need full power for veg.

Cool tubes are JUNK. Get a nice big air cooled hood a 2'x2' hood would work great in that space.

I have the Apollo 600 Watt air cooled Hood system in a 3x3 in my basement. Got really crowded with four plants. Don't go longer than three or four weeks from seed.
