Agro Star 400W HPS... Any good?

I just bought an Agro Star 400w HPS grow light and ballast. Is this a good light? How many plants can I grow under it?
I was told that I hold my hand under the light and move it away till it isnt hot any more, Is that correct?

anybody body know about them?

the amount of plants depend on your container size. usually a 400w light will support enough area for a 4x4 area.

Id say 4 plants max.. More plants dont always give ya more buds..

I'm growing in a 3x6 closet. I am going to be moving outa my parents house into my house and I'll be able to do an all indoor grow instead of having to just start them indoors. There are no closets but I'm going to build a 8x8 grow room in the back with two 400w HPS two 250w HPS and two 60w grow and show lights to luminate the sides, Hope to do 13-17 plants in the grow space. I'm going to grow a couple AF strains and breed seeds so I can continious harvest.
