AG Short Ryder...

Received my order of Short Ryder seeds from Nirvana yesterday...
Started germing 7 of them using the paper towel method about 6 hours ago...
I have the plate on top of the AG hood...
Toasty, but not that hot at all...

Has anyone germed them up there before, or should I move them somewhere else?

I'm using the AG Deluxe w/ 24" Lamp Arm...

It's been just under 24 hours, and like I said earlier, all the seeds have cracked...
None of the tails have poked out of the shells, but I see all of them...
Should they have done more by now, or am I just worrying too much?

I plan on keeping the light going for 24 hours until the roots hit the water, then I'm going to switch them to the Herbs/Basil setting which is 17 on and 7 off...
Since they're auto-flowering, that should be fine, shouldn't it?

I know I only asked this a little while ago..., but is it normal after 24 hours for there just to be a little bit of the white showing?
None of the tails are protruding yet...

>_<

go ahead and get them seeds in there. i started my seeds in my AG (when i grew with it)
are these autos? you may have trouble with 7 girls flowering in the AG, space for roots and light availability. (also keeping the res topped off)
what nutrients are growing with? AG tabs will work, but better nutrients don't hurt!
keep 'em short and flower early, ensure you have enough space.
good luck! growing with an AG is a breeze!

They're "Short Ryder" (auto-flower) seeds from Nirvana...

I'm just going with the AG lights and the nutes that came with it...
I'll do more next grow...
Want to see how this thing does on its own first...

I went ahead and put them into the AG...
Have the lights on the 24-hour setting atm so the pump constantly runs...
I'll update this when I see some action...

From my experience, a lot of seeds will crack and then within 48 hours they start to grow the tap root. I have had some that took 4-5 days and some that had a 3/4" tap root in less than 24 hours....

Good luck with your grow man!

you are on the right track. it just may be to tight once they get big. but you gotta b patient lol....from my readings you may have to force the "autos" to flower if they do not on thier own.

I've had them in the AG since when I made that post...
Still no difference...
Should I still give it another couple hours before starting to germ new seeds?

did you cut a hole or split the sponges to help the tap root push through the bottom? is the tap root pointing down?

if yes...then just wait it will take a day or 2

if no...check them and make sure that the root is facing down and you split the sponge

I always split the sponges until there's only about 1/4 inch untouched near the bottom...
Even though the taproot isn't protruding yet, they're all pointed down towards the bottom of the sponge...
