After curing for 2 weeks bud still smells like mollases

strain is bubbelicious. Was hung to dry for a week till dry then into mason jars for 2 weeks.. They still smell like fucking "mollases grass" ( best way I can describe it ).. Its a cross between a kinda sweet smell and grass.. No weed/dank smell at all. I had a lowryder blueberry that smelled the exact same way and never got better. It was also fed molasses.. The plants were flushed for 2 1/2 weeks before chopping. WTF is going wrong?

did you flush your plants? taste will stay in buds if your soil wasnt fushed the last 2 weeks of harvest

I didnt have to use it.. I have grow big and tiger bloom for nutes.. I jsut thoguht I would give it a try since some ppl rave about the shit.. Needless to say I have thrown it away and wont be using molasses again.. It could be that that molasses is NOT what caused the smell, but I am not gonna risk it again.

What did your bub smell like during the end of flowring?

Mine smelt real sweet and burned even sweeter

yeah i dont see how watering your plants with molases will make them smell like. I mean nobodies weed smells like guano and worm castings. Did you harvest soon, your weed will smell like grass when it dries if it isnt mature mos the time

2 weeks cure and my stuff still smells like hay too.....I find the cure to start working at a minimum of 3 weeks. Did you burp it and give it fresh air? Maybe you started the cure too early. Either way, throwing it away was wasteful. I've used molassas on every grow and have not had any problems.

i have seen some claims of molasses doing bad things to taste/odor if given in larger amounts
i used 1 tsp molasses per gallon, and there isn't a hint of any molasses odor on my cured bud
i did notice during flushing what looked like molasses 'residue' coming out for quite a while

had 2 plants that smelled totally diff.. both were nirvana bubbleicious. One smelled like straight juicy fruit chewing gum and the other one smelld like vinegar and puke.. But after a few weeks they both have the same mollases type smell..

I only gave them 1 tblsp per gallon ( FF HF soil ) for about 6 feedings and 2 tblsp per gallon for 2 feedings.. I fhushed my 2 gallon grow bags with 10 gallons of water twice during the 2 1/2 week flusing.. But they still smell like shit.. I had 2 auto blueberries that smelled similiar.. I swear it smells like mollases.. I could be wrong of course and I wouldnt be surprised at all if I am, but it does smell like molasses

you fed with what is the 'acceptable' range for molasses, at least by some advice
i've only used it once, but i suspect more than 1 tbsp per gallon may do some undesirable things
thanks for the post - +rep for sharing the info

I think he means throwing away the molasses, Boney (I hope).:o Two weeks is hardly any cure at all. 4 is better. 2 months even better. I have never used molasses.

LOL. I posted late.
