this is my grow setup for my afghan kush ryder plants. (akr) the pics that follow are day 2 pics added a rooting compound to the soil for vigirous root growth. heres wat they look like today will post more pics here soon.

Yeah ditch those incandescent bulbs they will not do your grow justice.. gets some cheap CFL's from your local hardware store or whereever - also ditch the tin foil & use mylar or if you cant get that just paint the inside of your grow space with matt white paint..

the incondesent were just temps lights already replace with some cfl..
ive used tin foil on several grows before mylar is out of my range right now, and the place im growing in would to big w/out my setup so painting is out that and its not my wall to paint..

these have shot up so quick i cant belive.. could it be because i put rooting compound in the soil?

Yeah quite possible m8.. do you have drainage holes in that Rubbermaid? just curious..

yeah at the bottom and sides, going to add a watering system here soon 4 pvc pipes at the corners with drip holes all the way down good idea or bad idea

Yeah sounds fine dude.. as long as they get watered regularly you'll be fine

about to post somepics in just a sec there doing pretty so hoping the stems start to thicken soon or im either going to have to tie them to sticks or put some extra soil around the base to give them some support

I got a batch of AKR's going now. Second time I've grown them. I put a fan on the new seedlings this time to help them build
a strong stem. Last time they grew too fast and I had to stake them. Use a fan early, better than having to stake them. My
plants are growing at an inch a day rate under my 1000W HPS set-up. The AKR grows in kind of a different shape. Most autos
have only one big cola. Not the AKR. They grow 4-8 large side branches that start low on the plant and grow straight up as
they follow the main cola. When the side branches and main stem are all flowering it looks like a huge cola 6 inches wide! Smoke
was great but harsh last time. My bad on the harshness for not dragging out my humidifier that time. What else...oh yeah, I'm
having to give 28-36" plants 16-24 ounces of water daily. The AKR soaks up and needs quite a bit more water than you would expect
from a plant it's small size. I'm using 7-quart pots and they are flowering up a storm. I expect them to finish between 7 and 8 weeks in dirt.
