i made a soil blend today something like a modified supersoil. i started with dr earth as my base soil. i added these amendments
earthworm castings
homeade fish emulsion
bone meal
blood meal
dr earth organic fert (has humic acid, kelp meal and a bunch of other meals)
fossilized bat guano
dolomite lime
epsom salts
perlite
peat moss

jcdws, when you start catching those fish just throw them in a 5 gallon bucket. not much upkeep is needed. i just feed with fish carcasses after i fillet. beware it stinks tho! a little molasses here and there will help too.

I am gonna try that, I usually just bury the fish carcasses into a bin of soil I have outside cooking.Do you keep it covered or does it need oxygen??

beautiful fish! nice scenery too. wheres that at?

you been working on that boat?

i think oxygenated emulsion would be better to help favor the aerobic bacteria...this is the bacteria our plants like. but for what it is and how i use it anaerobic bacteria should be fine. i wouldnt use it directly as feed for the plants rather use it as an amendment or in small amounts in a tea where there are plenty of aerobic bacteria to out compete the anaerobic bacteria. in a tea or in a compost/soil mix. the cooking/brewing phase gives the aerobic bacteria time. added directly might not be a good idea.

It's at the salt river by mesa,az..........I love fishing there! I haven't really started working on the boat yet,I think I am going to wait for winter to do the full restore.....for now I think I am just going to replace the leaky rivets and switch out the bench seats so I wont miss this spring fishing season.I have some gluvit,3m 5200 and a rivet tool, all I need now is some aluminum rivets to replace those leaky ones.Have you started fishing??

oh and thanks for that fish emulsion recipe definitely gonna give a go : )

Yes I've been 3 or 4 times. Only bass tho. I Went to fox grove, a local river in January it was too cold no activity. Went to the delta in February did alright. Just the other day we went to new melones I caught a nice 2-3 lb.

start with 4" senko worms and increase size depending on fish size. look up wacky or weedless rig. texas or Carolina rig will work too. wait till late spring through fall. when water temp gets up they bite. cast near underwater structure and keep line tight as soon as it hits water. wait for bite and set hook!

pm me for trade

Plants are starting to take off. They were off to a slow start probably due to soil quality and then soil quantity.

I picked up a sour diesel clone. Might throw one outside.

Just put plants under hps still on begging hours tho. I like a slow transition to 12/12.

I was up in the attic yesterday had to reconnect my ducting to the fan. No wonder it's been so hot!
