Aeroponic Plant Issues

I am having some issues with my new Aeroponic System (see pictures). Any help would be appreciated.

Little Background:
  • Light: 1000W HPS (I thought I would be switching to flower soon after transplant, but the plants started acting up).
  • Plants Age: 1 monthish
  • Recently (5 Days Ago) Transplanted from EZ Cloner to High Pressure Aeroponic System (Accumulator, Solenoid, Short Spray Times, etc.).
  • Root Mass underneath is growing vigorously, but the tops do not match (Again, See Pictures).
Any help is appreciated.

I think it's some type of deficiency. I was feeding them HPA nutrients but I think because they were getting over sprayed, they've converted to LPA roots. I upped the nutrient concentration today quite a bit to see if this solves the problem.

pH has been locked in at 5.8 - not sure if it should be a bit lower/more acidic. I've run aeroponic systems in the past at ~5.5 and they seem to have been healthier. I'm going to wait to lower the pH after I see if it was a nutrient issue first. Legallyflying what do you think my pH issue is?

I'll follow up with more pictures soon.

If they`ve converted to LPA its overmisting. The choice is to carry on overmisting and increase the EC (just as you have) or stop overnisting and feed the normal HPA lower EC. The reason these issues crop up is the EC for hpa is geared to droplets that are instantly depleted of nutes on contact with the roots. When you overmist you lay down a film of water on the roots that sits for an age. Worse still, you now have a very weak liquid nute solution sitting on the roots, not contained in a droplet that increases in EC as its being rapidly absorbed by the root. The plant strips whats available from the water film but its not enough cos the EC wasnt geared for that delivery method.

The usual thing that happens is to decide the roots are way too wet and increase the pause time. The plants struggle more cos theyre having to wait even longer for what little is available. The correct solution is to decrease the mist pulse so the low ec can feed the roots in the way it should. Most HPA nute,ph, wilting ,yellowing etc etc issues are mist related. If you know how HPA works its not too difficult to diagnose.

Thanks Atomizer.

I think I'm going to convert these first plants to LPA and raise the EC. I have a small R&D setup that I'll use to chart the necessary on times for a full HPA grow cycle (I think they change as the root mass size increases). Once I have those times dialed in, I'll convert the grow to all HPA.
