Ok so i was at my moms house and i go into her kitchen and i see one of those Aerogardens. Iv read and seen pics but have never grown out of any hydroponic or any other source of the same type. I ask her where she got it and for how much..... here comes the good part, She says why would you want to grow lettuce and strawberries for? I told her that i was interested in it and it looks cool. Sooo she gives me it... I run home (actually drive) and start reading every fourm paying close attention to every detail. Sicc, Lurkmaster and MRALEX they call him alex smart boy alex... dont know if anybody listens to the Adicts, but anyway you all have given me much info. We got some good news and some bad news. The only thing is though one of the lights was broken, and the good news is that i have a 150w hps lamp that workd lovely on my other ladies..:hump:so I am doing an experament soil vs Aerogarden to see what works better not for everyone but for my personal use. Ohh yea i also have a 100w cfl light which i plan on getting a couple more to help. THe only thing is that i have limited space to grow. Attached is a pic of my setup. Coment are much apreaceated and will be helpfull towards my grow. I started of with bagseed. No need to fuck up some perfectly good seeds.

Some other things i forgot to mention im using Aquafina water only.
I have the salad greens kit.
Some questions that i do have are, the nutes that come with it will they be good onough of do i have to go out and buy some, if possible i would like to use the ones they gave me but if theres an less expensive product that would be nice also.

OK so today i started the project i filled up the AeroGarden with Aquafina water with no nute tabs. I adjusted the light so that all of my plants get there breakfast luch and dinner evenly. I set the lights on for 24hrs of light and the ag setting on salad greens for 24hrs of water. I took out the old salad green seeds and replaced with three germanated bagseeds. Here it goes fellas. So Far so good dident spill any water walking up the stairs. Heres pics of my setup, including the small three soil plants. Hopefully they get along in there.

What's up man?

Looks like everything is going good. The nutes that come with the AG will do fine. You can start with no nutes or 1/4 tab while they are just sprouts, then move up to around 1 tab per week.

You don't have to use bottled water, unless you really want to. Tap water will work fine. Just let it sit for about a day before you use it. Getting a jug to premix your nutes is a good idea.

Also, just a side note, turn your AG water pump off after you get some roots established in the water. This will prevent the very possible stem rot. (happened to me).

Don't turn it off once it sprouts, you need to keep it on to keep the sponges wet. You turn it off and leave it off when your sprouts have their roots well established in the water. This is to prevent stem rot, mold and other things.

As for the light, it looks like your set for awhile, we'll just have to see how things go.

CFLs are good for spreading the light to the lower areas of the plant where the HPS doesn't penetrate well. Just don't use too many cause your grow room will heat up fast!

Ok sorry i havent posted in a while i just thought that everyone has given up on me. Good to see someone is still out there. Sixtnineher good looks bro, and i will b adding pics first thing tomorrow. I switched from 24 hrs of light to 20 on and 4 off. The res water was getting really warm and thought that the plants would like some fresh cool water than fresh hot water.... i know i sure would. I do have a small prob the one plant is really yellow healthy but yellow stem and everything i decided to cut back on 1/2 a nut tab to a 1/4 to see if that does the trick. We shall find out soon.

Cool man i cant wait to see what this aerogarden has in store for me
It will have a lot to offer as long as you learn as much as you can. Do research on RIU and google. If you have a problem, try and find it yourself first, but if that fails, ask us.

Also, don't stop at the aerogarden. Move up to bigger and better things, such as the StealthHydro bubbleponics setup, or a DIY setup.

There are endless possibilities if you put your mind to it.
