Welp, it's not much....but herre is a cel-phone pic of the lil ones, all of 5 days old (I started to germinate the seeds on the 16th)..but for them to be like this in 5 days is pretty good!

Also, I ordered up some FoxFarm nutes as well! I did use the "Starting" tablets that came with the Gourmet Herbs...it also came with "Sprouting" tablets as well...I wish I knew what was in these things! hehe...

they look great!

Ok so you used the two starting tablets?
Remember to wait two weeks before you use any other nutes
And I would refill the resivoir with fresh water and the fox farm nutes next time...

I just learned that if you use the recommened dosage of fox farm nutes it will automatically adjust the ph of the water to around 6.0

Well good luck

Cool, thx..is pretty much what I planned on doing as well.

I can't wait till I get back from my turkey day trip on the 26th, it will be good to see how far they have come. Luckily my girl will be here to keep an eye on them in case of some kind of disaster.....

Looking good, have you thought about maybe lining your cupboard with foil to maximize the minimail light. I think this might help keep it "bushy" around the bottom, but I don't know I haven't got mine yet.

Ive thought of this as well....

Dont see how it could hurt

One thing ive heard is to have the non-shiny part facing out because this will not create hot spots(i read this a long time ago so this probobly is untrue with cfls which arent hot, in which case the shiny side out would be better)

In any case mylar would be the best

ok

good idea

I'll probably just end up painting the inside of the cabinet white...or going ghetto and using tin foil or something....

Here is an update...they are growing like mad! Only been 11 days since I planted the seeds. One of them is a little top-heavy and must have fallen over while I was gone for the 4 day trip , but I actually think I will leave it like that..it seems to be fine and has turned itself upward and is healthy.

Hope everyone had a great turkey day!

I've had that problem, in the begining

the little plants falling over....

I constructed somthing to hold them up...

Its probobly because the light is so far away in the begining, thats why i wanna try and get it closer next time....

Have you decided when your going to flower? if I were you I'd wait one more week to flower

Looking Very nice tho
good luck

Hey everyone... New to the forums, but after seeing what you guys have been doing with the aero garden, I'm about to start one up myself:mrgreen: It's like a weed-growing revolution with this thing.

I have a suggestion though, and Teknique, I sent you a PM about this.

Give this a shot when your plants begin to get too big for the light hood:

Carefully bend the stalk so it's at a 90 degree angle/horizontal. You would probably be better off "training" the stalk, which is a process that slowly bends it over a period of time instead of doing it all at once. Find a way to tie it down so it remains in this position and let it veg some more. It should start growing up towards the lights from this hoirzontal position, and allow for more growth, which equals bigger yield. :blsmoke:

I would suggest creating a series of "fences" to tie your plants to. The design is simple, and all you need is some 1" x 2" boards, nails/screws, and tie wraps. Just use the wood to lay a board parallel to and about 6" above the growing surface, tie the plant to it and you're done.

This link, from weedfarmer.com (a fantastic resource), shows the basic principle http://cannabisguide.com/closet_culture/Images/4-2.gif

I've seen this done when space was limited in growing chambers, so it should work for this setup as well.

Another technique that could be put to use, if anyone knows how to properly implement it, is the SCreen Of Green (NOT SEA of green), or SCROG method. They had a very nice setup posted on Overgrow before it was shut down by the damn feds. Basically you use pvc piping to make a square frame that goes over the top of the plants, about 6 or 7 inches, and you stretch chicken wire across it. As the plants grow upward and begin to fill out you tie all of the stems to the wire so that they all grow from that position. It makes for a very dense miniture forest of pot trees, and looks really cool :).

Lemme know if you try it, I'll be looking in to see how you guys progress, and once my setup is ready I'll start my own grow journal here for you to see.

Question about the aero garden:

How much noise/heat does it make?

Thanks

Crazy dude!

That sounds kind of advanced but i'm sure someone will get there with this machine

I want to find the maximum yield for this machine....ya know?

We're on to somthing...

I like the tie down technique....I was thinking growing one seed in the far right corner and tieing it down to the far left corner and letting the nodes grow upwards...

probobly at least 4-5 nodes growing upwards which is like 4-5 mini plants growing upwards with colas....

you know...

well some one try it out....

I'm far from that method as of yet...

Good luck

I really just wanna see if this thing can grow and flower weed, before i go and try any advanced methods with something that is hardly designed to do what we are pushing it to do.

Yea, the SCROG method is definitely pretty interesting...perhaps once we all get past the first initial grow, we can start to experiment with the different ways.

I got the FoxFarm nutes yesterday...drained the reservior, mixed it at 1/2 the recommended strength for daily feeding and filled the reserviour with the murky brown goodness. As of yesterday, it has been exactly 14 days since I planted the initial seeds, and only 3 days since I posted the last pics on the 28th when I got home...but they have grown alot in just that short amount of time, it's crazy!

Another small update:

They look very nice buddy....

This thing doesnt hardly make any noise at all....

Do you all have the online feeding schedule for fox farm nutes?

I don't have a schedule for it. I got the Grow Big , and Big Bloom .

I put 1/2 the recommended amount of grow big for a gallon of water into a 1 gallon water jug. I mixed it thoroughly..then I poured the magic into the freshly emptied reservior where the roots are just soaking it in. They seem to be loving it.

Don't forget to start a thread on the techniques that youre using.....

and post plenty of pics...

Good luck

i cant wait to get one of these pay day is on the 5th
You can do like I did, which is order it form the Aerogrow website, which has the "TV OFFER" deal...I only paid $19.95 (shipping/handlilng costs)...and they shipped it to my door within 5 days of my order. I have gotten all the "free" stuff that comes with the kit, and have yet to receive my first bill....which is the typical "3 easy payments" deal...of ~$50 each month....so you can pay it off over 3 months.

can't beat that with a stick!
