Aerogarden mini scrog medical grow idea.

This forum is amazing! I've been reading up as much as I can since joining a few days ago. I'm really amazed at some of the grows here and the amount of knowledge being shared. Looks like I've come to the right place.:blsmoke:

I've been tossing around the idea of a personal grow garden for some time, which led me here to dig around a bit. Since my intro post a couple days ago one of my dearest friends has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We're all scared to death for her and she's worried about chemotherapy, so I've decided to grow her some good medicine. Time to make things happen.

My need is for a small scale, very sneaky, personal medical use grow. I'd like it to provide at least two to three oz dried per harvest if possible. ( not sure if that's realistic or not)

I found a complete AG Classic in my brothers garage yesterday. He'd used it to grow some peppers or whatnot then lost interest and put it away. He gave it to me, and it's been cleaned up and is ready. I have access to some Train Wreck clones, and have saved some excellant looking seeds from a dino-mite bag of midgrade I had about three months ago. ( wasn't cryppy but sooooo damned trippy!):weed:

I've been spending several hours at a time here in the forums since joining and feel pretty confident that I could do this. I plan to set the AG reservior up with airstones. I have some GH nutrients, and thanks to the clear explanations here, I completely understand how to check and adjust ph and such, so I'm very excited to get started.

My situation is that I absolutely cannot use HID lighting. I really need to fly under the radar with this. I've been moving through the CFL threads and picked up some bulbs at wal-Mart.

I have 6 GE CFL bulbs. 3 in 6500k and 3 in 2700K they each are 26 actual watts. I'm going to use these in conjunction with the AG stock lights to grow two to three plants into an 18"x18" scrog configuration, where all the lights end up 2 inches above the plants, spread evenly over the screen for flowering.

Does this seem like a decent plan? I know its not a ton of light, but my landlord gets my electric bill, and mentions any changes...lol. I want to push it as far as I can without being detected in any way.

I'm wondering if I could use higher wattage CFL lights while still not tripping my bill too high, what does everone think? I have no space for a cabinet so I'll be growing in a bedroom corner, where hanging an hid, would be impossible, and heat buildup would present a real problem as I have nowhere to vent too ( gonna just use glade plugins for the smell.) So CFL's it has to be.

I'd like any thoughts on this plan, advice to adjust it, anything is welcome. This is going to be a grow for love, the product will be given away for free to two friends who really need it ...and some for me of course too =) I want to get as much as possible out of this kind of setup.

Thank you all for your posts within these forums on various subjects , they've been incredibly informative and helpul. the pictures and grow journals are inspiring.

I promise pics from beginning to harvest once things are together.

thank you all again.

Peace :peace:

sounds like a good plan, the only problem with the aerogarden is a small reservoir but you seem to have done your research. check out dwc bubblers if you are not completely set on the aerogarden, i do have an aero in my kitchen though and have always wanted to throw a clone in there

why not just go buy some, cheap=nasty

Well, that's the whole problem, good stuff 'round here is around 130 bucks per 1/4 oz....I can't afford it, and my friend won't be working anymore, so she won't have money to drop either. Even the decent midgrade product is right around 60 per !/4. I'll most likely upgrade my setup once I get a little practice in anyhow, but I'll still have to keep it under the radar.
