aerogarden mexi seed experiment

i was planning on making a grow journal awhile back, but i was too fucking lazy, so i decided i would go for it now, i got assorted mexi dirt seeds, since thats all that comes thru, i got the aerogarden deluxe, i have been running my lights 24/7, cus i want my shit to stay low and bushy, and also i dont want to out grow my garden, it has been working good so far. i got the fax farm, big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom, it was like my plants started taking steriods, for real. they just took off, i found some lights at wal mart for plants and aquariam which are supposed to be good for vegging, my plants smell dank and have a really good color.... i also germinated seeds around 3 days, all the roots were around 2 or 3 inches, i think it helpd, they all sprouted with in hours. I also got the yellow spots on my first set of leaves, which i have heard is prettty common in these things, but hopefully i can share my grow on her and im open to all advice,

tell me what you think, im currently rigging my shit up to flower, and my plants are 4 weeks and 1 day from poppin in, hopefully i get 2 or 3 females, well see tho, they are not in the usual box i have as im rigging it up to start flowering tommorrow after i let em sit in darkness for a day or so....

i started the grow journal in my siggy, CHECK IT OUT!!!

i got my set up done for my flowering phase. i got a new hose for my air stone, and i also hung a piece of dark tarp inside my closet and then have a blanket on the other side to make sure no lights get in...i bought the wrong figure 8 cord at radio shack. once i get that i will start flowering, i also gotta figure how to set up the timer....below are some updated pics....

hey gypsy thanks for the pics.....well i tried to have my plants be in a dark place for a day or so, so i turned off all the lights when i went to work, then when i got home some how the lights turned back on. what the fucking shit was this?!?!?!? i hope it doesnt make my plants turn hermie....i started flowering this morning, 12/12 ill post some pics later, i am switching my fox farm nutes over to the flowering schedule....i cant wait more updates tonight with some pics.....peace

So let me get this right...

You have a figure 8 cord plugged into the hood of the AG... going through a timer.... and you set it and it did something different...

Sounds like you didn't set the timer right...

But if you are just using the on off button on the ag, it has it's own timer...
Hence the need for the cord...

You really confused me with this one...

Can you elaborate???

gyp, i had my lights on 24/7 so ive just been using the 24 hour light, and there is the "lights on/off" i pressed it off and then i assumed it would stay off....i dunno i was pretty baked..they went thru the first day of flowering, i just topped off the res with 32 ounces of water in 24 hours...im hoping to get one or 2 females. i started with 7 and then got rid of 3 to make room and now its really pushin it..I've had to raise the light twice in 4 days......ill post some pics in a sec.....

yeah i figured it out, my figure 8 cord wasnt quite the right size so i shaved part of it off so it fit in the socket, and that is plugged into the timer.....

3rd day of flowering.....

i've been looking at the aerogarden, lookin for some results, keep it updated so i can know if i should get it.

do you think i would need to extra lighing at the bottom if i trimmed her up nice and good?

yeah im going to get 3 to 6 more cfls i think it will really help especially since i want to get as much bud as i can.....im thinkin im gonna get a 400w hps light for my next grow and use the aerogarden lights as supplemental lights on the side goin top to bottom.

Thread subscribed. My AG Deluxe is growing 5 seeds for about a week. All of them are starting to sprout, one of them is already starting to grow leaves (about an inch long so far). I don't have an airstone but I'm going to add one because everywhere I have read on this forum they say it adds 20% to your yield. I'm also going to add 5x 20w CFL's around the sides using an adjustable bendy lamp from target. I was planning on using the stock nutes, is it really worth the money to get stronger ones? How much are you expecting to yield from this grow?

Naw the stock ones are good. they have a buffer so you dont even need to check ph. you've seen Korvettes AG grow, he uses them and dosnt check ph or even the temp in his room, im gonna order the nutes cause i got my AG but with nothing else but the cords, if you use other nures you gonna have to check the ph, its basically almost a set and let go byitself, but bac on topic lookin real good
