Thanks for the quick response. Awesome detail.

-I'm not sure if they come in sponges or rockwool, but would it matter? Could I just take it out and put it into the ag sponges? or if its rooted already..
-and I'm trying to go to harbor side. heard they have a lot of clones. Any where in oakland/berkley would be good. if san francisco is really worth it, like really good clone or something, just to get 1 clone, then i could do that too.
-are there any threads on the techniques to keep the plants short and stocky?
-would printer paper be ok for the cabinet?

also on the cfl lights, I took a look on the stores online from that thread - I'm not sure about the wattage. There are 30 watt bulbs that have both 2700 and 5000, or even 6500. but then there are lower/higher watts that also have the same amount of K.
-and if I just get 1 extra clf light at 6500, will that be enough for the vegging part? and then another cfl with 2700 for flowering. or do i need to get more lights?

It doesn't really matter what the clone is in, you can use rockwoll in the AG but you just have to be careful that it doesn't get too moist, since they retain alot of water already.
The clones will be rooted already, so you wouldn't have to worry about that
As for keeping them short an stocky, take a look at these threads

https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/151706-uncle-bens-topping-technique-get.html

https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/6834-how-lst-low-stress-training.html

paper would work if thats all you have, you can get some white poster board and use that.

For the CFL's the 30 watters would be good, i would get like 2 of those to veg (Day Light} since its one plant, then pick up about 4 more or so for flowering(soft white), the more light the better.

Hey a question about the height again, how you were talking about the triple in size when you flower.. I actually measured my cab.. it's about 2 and a half feet tall max. Should I switch to the 4 soft whites after the clone is about 8 inches tall?

Also what is the thermometer/hygrometer for? Inside of the cabinet? Should there be any ideal temps? When would I put a fan in there?

And would this be good for the outlet timer?

Here's my gameplan..
------
Amazon
------
AeroGarden 3 - 50
Air pump - 8
Airstone 1 2 - 3
Thermo/Hydro - 10
Outlet timer - 9
pH control - 13
+shipping and other costs.. $111

As for the lights, I'm goin down to lowes to check out what they got.
And the figure 8 cable.. I have a PS2 one.. one is round and the other is square, is that supposed to be like that?
The airstone, I'm getting 2 of to be sure, it's less than 3 bucks for both.. so better to be safe just in case one doesn't fit.

Is there anything I could be possibly missing?

Yeah man 8 inches sounds good, but I would veg her out bigger then that. Then go ahead and top her, and once the new tops start to form proceed into flowering them. Then you can always tie anything down that gets out of hand.
You want the temps to be between 75-85 degrees
Timer looks fine
The PS2 cord will work, you just have to cut it to get it to fit, that's what i did when i was using the AG.

Once they start forming.. would that be a couple of inches or just as soon as it starts sprouting from where you cut it?

Just depends how you wanna do it, you can veg longer after you top, and tie down the new shoots that come up, i did that with my last plant

oh ok i get it

i was rethinking my cabinet tho.. i measured it, its about 20x11 inside and 2 feet + 3-4 inches tall. i have my hooks in there for when I drop the extension cord for my cfls, but i think its gonna be a problem especially once flowering, there wont be enough space between plant and cfl, i think atleast.

i have a sliding door closet full of clothes and games and stuff.. if i was to empty out one side, what would i have to do? would i have to make a box kind of area out of white posterboard or something? could i just set it up without making a box in there? just clear out the closet, hang the lights and close the door? thanks man

actually i just had an idea.. to clear the closet and then put up a huge white cloth. pin the cloth to the back wall, pin the sides and have strings attached to the sides to hold up the side, and pin the ground. then for the front, i was thinking of just extending the cloth and putting some strings up to the wooden thing that holds cloths.. so i can basically open it and close it, behind the closet door. do you think the white cloth will be good enough? cuz im not sure where im gonna find something big and white for cheap.. im workin on a budget.

also i found out my pump isnt comin for another 2 weeks or so.. do you think I could use the AG pump for 2 weeks or so, and then replace it once the new one comes in?

I started in an AG. The roots got so big in the res they got into the pump and seized it up. AG warrentied it for me but I will never grow cannabis in there again. Now I just use it as a cloner. Which I have had 100% success with.. Just figured I would share my horror story. Good luck!

when growing the in AG the pump is basically useless once the roots hit the water, thats what the airstone is for

That closet will be perfect, the white walls will be enough to reflect light.
For the LST you dont need to do an extreme form like shown in the thread, as long as you can tie them down if they get out of control you should be good.
That will be perfect for vegging and flowering, trust me.
It may seem like alot but you will be happy you got them, especially with one plant, if all go's right you will have a great harvest.

awesome. thats what i was thinking, more lights, better grow.

for the closet, should i worry about the right side(where some junk is/blackness) and infront(behind the sliding door is brown)

for the temp, what should i search for an item that will automatically turn on/off a fan or heater if the temp is too cold or too hot? like what is that called?

and what if i did 2 plants? i think the plants would be too close to each other because of the small size of the aerogarden
what would you suggest for the lighting? like 2 more of each daylight/softlight? 1 more?
or maybe just stick to 1 plant and get it really big..

sorry for all the questions and thanks so much for being so helpful.. your probably like wow this guy has a lot of questions.. i just really dont wanna fuck this up sorry haha thanks so much

haha its all good. I've been doing this for a while ;)

The dark space in the closet will be fine, you will be getting enough light reflected around, and you can always set up CFL's around the plant.
The temps should be fine, i dont think you would need something to turn on or off fans.
Not even sure whats that called either haha, but a simple fan and opening the closet time to time should keep things cool.
If you did two plants it think you would be fine on lights, but the space saver is a lil smaller then the other AG's, and clones are gauranteed females so i think you should be good with one, let her have all the space for her roots and all the light.

Yeah man growing gets addicting lol
The roots will go down into the water.
Its hot really floating or sinking, more like being suspended in the water i guess you could say.

I've been watching this thread and thought i would share a couple of pics from my 1st aerogarden grow the first is to demonstrate why you can really only do one plant in it this is the lst I pulled it over 3 times

Second is the airstones I used thank god i had them in there when the pump went out,

Last is a pic after the third lst so i started in the hole back to the right of the light then lst 1 to the right second pull to the front then third to the left. by this time the secondary growth caught up to the top so i stoped the lst and flowered

No intent to flood your thread just some info i thought may help
