Aerogarden club

New to the Club....

Transplanted 2 clones from rockwool to the sponges, kept one in the rockwool, trimming it to fit in the hopper.

After some trimming to the babies, I have 4 more clones to root or die...

No root solutions, nutrients or additives, just Ph stabilized tap water 24/7.

Check out my other pictures here...

Well, let me know what you think...

Till then...

Be Well...

Hey guys I took a cutting off of my friends plant he had outside and popped it in my aerogarden. Should you put your timer on 12/12 to start or should I let it grow root first? If so what type of nutrients should I use? How do I flower? HELP! I have some IONIC big bloom for hydro grow. His plant outside is allready budding.

start them 18/6 for about 2 weeks give or take a couple of days until you see root formation.Go to the hydro store or order online a 3 part hydro nute setup..ie General Hydroponics,Fox Farm,Advanced Nutrients thats what im gonna use next grow im currently using canna line.
Flowering is when you change the light schedule to 12/12.do this after you see roots from your cutting.:peace:

I have the same yellowing problem going on. I got a hunch it is the Nutes, I kept using the aerogarden nutes. I am going to flush out half of the water and replace with fresh. Let's see how that does. Life is one big experiment.

Also it looks like seedings are straining for light. I have it set on the herb setting.

Any ideas.

You're right, it's the nutes. I basically run my off the "Tomato" setting until flower. You're gonna have to update your lighting as well. In the begining the aero light should be good enough, until flower. At least I think so....I'm no expert, I'm just telling you from my experiences. I'm on my second grow with the aero.

you need some good nutes besides the AG nutes because later on your gonna see all kinds of deficiencies.

i have been using the AG nutes through my grows and they do fine, if thats all you can afford, just cut the dose in half, so instead of 2 big tabs only use 1

Hi Folks

I've spent all day reading the forums regarding the AG and have decided to take the plunge as a first time grower.

Your journals have been most informative, many thanks.

So if you fancy a look at my approach you can find it here.

It is/will be based on all you guys previous hard work and I hope for some much needed pointers as I go along.

Many thanks
AGSteve

hey im about to be a first time grower and im just curious since plants grow faster in the aerogarden, how long does the actual flowering stage of a plant take... is it still the full 8-10 weeks? does anybody know???????

korvette since youve grown 3 different times maybe you can tell me how long is the time period from flowering to harvest?????

most plants take 8- 10 weeks .. with an aerogarden and extra CFL's . I'd say two weeks longer then with a HPS so aprox 12 weeks for some really good solid buds

When I last checked in on this thread, folks were saying that they really couldn't fit more than 2 or maybe 3 plants to maturity in the AG because of the roots. Is that still the consensus? I had thought about doing the AG initially since we had one but now my plan is to do soil for my first grow in hopes that I can take 4-5 plans all he way to harvest.

WHO TOLD YOU THAT? Smack them... Ive grew 3 different times in an aerogarden .Every time used the cherry tomatoes nutes . and had No problems .. I use spring water and I never change the res nor do i chech the ph and my plants are perfect .. just have a airstone going ..

no, i mean the nutes did'nt work for me.i kept getting yellowing leaves.ant it was like i was seeing all different kinds of deficientcies.,so i ordered the General Hydroponics 3 part nutes ,drained the water and added the nutes and i had no problem after that.
maybe i was using them wrong.2starter tabs.and then when the light comes on 2 of the regular tabs.....:peace:

yeah its hard to do a full grow with multiple plants in the AG. the roots ust get too big and end up choking eachother. i use the AG for clones and veging. after the i transplant to a water farm. its great. i get about 1 oz per plant

Thanks... Once I saw that I'd have to move out of the AG, I looked @ the waterfarm as well. I have to travel for maybe a 3-5 day trip each month and was worried my plants would die if I had them in a hydro/aero setup and was away that long. Have you ever left them? How'd they do?

At this point I'm settled on paper towel germination, starter plugs and then to FoxFarm Ocean Forest to finish in grow bags. Once I get the hang of things, I may go back to waterfarms. Hoping to speed up the process by doing so.

The water farm pump runs 24/7 so as long as you have your lighting timed you should be fine, although daily checking is recomended due to many factors ie. broken pump, timer, ect. but 3-4 days should be fine. i wouldnt worry about it too much.

the AG actually works very well, in terms of germinating the seedlings. i popped mine in and 3 days later i got a very healthy sprout. i used distilled water with balanced PH at about 6.0.

Good luck man!

Hi folks

My stuff arrived today, it's all setup and running. If you fancy seeing my progress my journal is in my sig.

Quick question, how do you work out how much lumen each light gives?

Cheers
AGSteve
