would it work, and if so is it like cheating?

In my opinion I wouldnt use the ag, I had the basic one Idk which one u would get but anyways for a first timer it is hard to use cause it is very unforgiving to slip ups. Make sure your ph is perfect and do not over-fertilize (2 probs I had). After a while i jus switched to soil and have had a lot better results.
