Advice on seedlings needed

Leaving out of town tomorrow. Saturday I put a few beans in RW, they just came in from nirvana. 2.5 have sprouted, they're going to a mini bubbler I have set up. The other 8 or so are still tucked in the RW.

They were taking so long be the rw was too wet.

My question is, will the remaining unsprouted seeds be OK without light or watering for 5 days? They are in a dome with heating pad, though I've been leaving the dome lid off.

I think they should be set on water, the pressing issue is whether they will need light. Assuming one sprouted hours after I left, will it be OK with no light for 5 days?

I would assume it's not okay... Kinda like not feeding a new born baby for 5 days... My logical thinking anyway.

You shouldn't have been popping seeds knowing you were going to be leaving for an extended period of time.

Thats as helpful as "I told you so". For the most part I did freebies and a few regulars. 1 of the 2 femined i planted has already popped, in the bubbler and under light. I was expecting most of them to pop within 5 days so I could let them get bigger while I was away. I also wanted to make sure my dome was working, as I was getting that fuzzy algae shit when I tried to germ based under the light.

Now, is there anyone with advice that is actually germane to my situation ?

Probably cause they're going to dry out or drown regardless of what you do while you're gone.

You're wasting seeds, so my point stands, you messed up by popping them early.

Yes, I may have messed up by impatiently germing them but as it stands, they are still alive. That being said, I'm not just going to give up on quality genetics and write them off as dead. Considering I watered the RW once (unecesarily) 2 days ago and this am it was too damp, I'm not sure it's going to dry out in 5 days. Just in case, I will probably take a few unpopped RW cubes and put in my veg cab mini bubbler (2inch netpots), at least the splashing will keep them wet.

I probably should reword the ? Since I have water mostly figured out: WHAT IS A GOOD LIGHT CYCLE TO LEAVE UNPOPPED PLANTS UNDER? I want enough time for the sprouts to mature and not stress when they hit 18/6, but I also don't want that mildewy algae forming on the cubes either.

If the seed is cracked and the taproot is showing and you put it in your medium, it doesn't need any light until it actually breaks ground and forms it's first set of leaves.

(The plant can't absorb light without leaves)

Honestly, the best you could do is transfer the seeds pretty much the day you leave and hope and pray the medium stays wet till you return.

I don't use rockwool as a rule but I use quick starts, same idea different media. One thing you may consider is. If you put your rockwool in your bubblers before you leave and fill to the bottom of the net cup,the popping bubbles will keep your rockwool wet.Don't listen to all the negative crap.there really is no problem. I start my seeds right in my bubblers and could leave them for 2 weeks.

Can't you just leave a CFL above them and keep the dome on? I would think you'd be ok for 5 days but nope never tried.

And yup "told ya so" lol. I tend to leave my set up for a week or more and they just keep rolling but they are usually quite along.

I say put them in the bubbler under 18 hours of light, they might get too soggy under the dome and they will need light before the 5th day. Just keep the water high so the bubbles hit the RW but not too high where the RW is wicking water.

And don't worry about the green stuff on the RW.

can ya feel the love!
Yup. So much love.

They are right. Planning is key. Put the cubes in your bubbler and set the ph @ 5.4.

They bubbles will keep the moist and the ph will swing up, hints setting it a little low.

Do plan better, not busting balls but you could lose a keeper. Chalk that shit up.

Imo rockwool holds to much water. I like jiffy pellets, but to each his own.

I would put the cubes into soil and place them under a light. After being put into a container they will probably need 5 days or more without a watering.

I have been looking for a way to do this! I have never heard of quick starts, who makes them?

not only is the op an idiot, but he/she is arrogant too. i hope u lose em all, idiot!
Whats with the negativity bro. I'm not being arrogant. Did I make a mistake by jumping the gun on the germ? Yeah. But saying I should have waited DOESN'T HELP ANYTHING. I know I should have waited, but I made a mistake and was asking for advice from the community to compensate. How is that arrogant?

Methinks you need to come off ye Olde high horse and lookup the word "arrogant"
