Advice On My Grow

im growing at the moment a few bug bud plant im just vegin them off under some clf everything is lookin fine running 20hr on 4 off. when they get 2 a decent size gunna flip 2 flowering. my problem is i cant afford 2 run 400w hps for 12hr a day. so i could use a 250w hps all day or use a 400w hps 4 8hrs then use my clf 4 the other 4hrs. i dont know witch would be best. any advice would be greatfull

TBH the difference in price from 4 more hours a day is really nothing. If you are going to grow, you should just run the 400w hps and do it right.

I'd personally just use a 250w hps for this grow, then next grow you can have all the money needed to use the 400w for the 12 hours of flowering light

Although personally, if it was really me, i'd just not buy beer for a week which would offset the cost of the extra 4 hours for the whole grow and just use the 400w I mean from 8 hours to 12 hours you're looking at an extra £30 or so for a 90 day flowering period and that is for electricity charged at 20p a unit.

I think the average kwh in the UK is more like 10 pence. So even less than that.

there are two rates, roughly 20p an 10p, i never remember which way around it is, but i think it;'s something like 690kwh's at 20p, and anything over that is then charged at 10p'ish. I personally consider the oven and washing machine and such as using up the 20p units, and then the grow lights use the 10p units, cheaper for me when sorting out bills with my flatmate haha

just trying 2 save as much as possible cash wise as bit strap 4 cash at mo ive vegd under a 600w last time but as i said im skint at mo so just trying 2 save as much as possible. has any1 grown under a 250w and what is the difference in yeald..... thats cool he pays 4 washer oven u pay 4 grow light lol haha

My first grow was off a 250W HPS from start to finish, three plants under it and I pulled just shy of an ounce a plant. Nothing to write home about but I'm sure plenty of people can get more out it than that.

Define worth doing. An ounce is an ounce is an ounce. say you run 3 plants under a 250w hps and get just 3 ounces, which is a very low yield in fairness, then that could have a streetvalue of £600, considering the light would only cost you about £60 for a 3 month flowering cycle which is conserative, that's £540 of free bud. That would be worth it in my mind. It only becomes not worth it if you have a specific goal in mind such as i want to buy a new boat or you are attempting to make your living off selling drugs.
