I apologize in advance if I missed this info somewhere but I couldn't find it. I don't wanna be that guy that asks the same question without looking, but I did look! I found out some great info and learned a lot but not the specific answers I am looking for.

Working on getting everything for my 1st grow and would like to know a cpl things:

Link of what I am getting minus my hydro set-up:
http://growace.com/product_info/ga-400w-hobbyist-series-grow-package.html

In a 2x4 room can I go with (1) 400w bulb or should I buy another? Seems like (1) wouldn't cover the 4' area. I would like to put 4-6 plants in the tent. I was thinking about getting (2) 400's and then dimming it down if need be for the veg. cycle and then I would have the full 800 Watts for flowering.

I will be doing hydroponics maybe a DWC or Ebb and Flow, thats the only thing I haven't decided on yet.

Thx all for the help, 1st grow and can't wait!!

with the package I am getting should I be worried about temps with the second light? Or should I look into my second light being an air cooled tube? Thx

Ok now since it doesn't give me the option for them both to be air cooled plus a little pricey if I could, what are my options, even to do one air cooled it sounds like heat would still be a factor

Seems like just one 400W wouldn't be enough to cover a 4' area or am I wrong? I even thought of running the two 400W at 50% for veg but then I run into the cooling problem during flowering so I'm kinda stuck.

Also, I was just looking and noticed that along with the carbon air filter it comes with the inline fan....would that not be enough to keep it cooled in the tent without the air cooled tube? Its rated at 190 CFM. Thx for all the help.

If I'm doing the math right the tent is 2x4x5=40 cubic feet so would that be a big enough fan to keep it cooled enough? Haha I hope I'm not way off here. But thats why I'm in the newbie section

I am currently using more or less the same tent i got a secret jardin ds90 running a 400w dual spectrum hps not air cooled, i have found that i needed to lose the space of 1 plant to put in a circulating fan even with the circulating fan the temps still creep up to the low 90's on a hot day (fortunatly we only get 2-3 weeks of good weather uk) i have a 5 inch shower fan blowing cold air in from the bottom and the 4 inch inline fan with carbon filter attached, if you are going to use 2 400w you will have serious issues with heat, my temperature is inbetween 80-85 with all fans blowing at mid day and it goes down to 78-80 in the night so i turn the 5 inch fan off. Hope this helps .

why dont your try something like this mate
Do you have a link on this? I really like this except if heat is a problem then I might just go with a 600W instead. Thx for the research. I saw one like this but didn't find it by itself and it came with a cheap looking ballast

Would it be better to go with an air cooled 600W attached to a 6" inline for exhaust? Would I need another inline hooked up to the carbon as well? Or can I just hook them up as one unit?

The other ? I have is intake, I have been reading about passive intake which I take is just opening a vent and letting air come in. But if heat is a problem do I need to add an inline fan to bring in fresh air? What would be the best way to handle this?
