Went into my local hydro shop today and the owner said the AN owner is going to court accused of being a nonse and that when he's found guilty the he and all of his suppliers r sending back there stock and r boycotting his products. This is the first I've heard of it. Is this true???

This is why the Internet is such a bad source for news. A guy at a shop says something's true, you can find something somewhere online to confirm it, therefore it's true?

What you're missing is a huge amount of additional information. First, at the time this story broke there was no "the owner" of Advanced Nutrients. There was three co-founders that collectively owned the company. The guy (Gino Yordanov) accused of this crime (and, for the record, there's reason to suspect a political motive behind that accusation) was one of them.

Since this happened (more than a year ago) Michael Straumietis (sp?) bought out the other two owners. I've heard various speculation as to why he did that, ranging from him wanting more complete control over the company's direction to a desire to distance the company from the above scandal. My guess is it's probably a combination of more than just one thing.

Of course the guys screaming for a boycott and looking for blood don't want to stay current because if they stop listening for new information they don't have to worry about it contradicting what they've already decided must be true and therefore justifies their righteous fury. If this guy and his suppliers all want to boycott the company based on something someone no longer affiliated with it might have done... well that's their right.

For whatever reason, AN got rid of Gino. Maybe he wasn't a good guy, or maybe he was and he sold his share of the company because he knew that no matter how innocent he might be, the stink of this scandal would follow him and the company around forever. Maybe he decided he wanted the company he helped build to have the best chance at success even if his life would never recover from the accusation. I don't know.

But, most importantly, I'm not trying to stir up a lynch mob based on things I don't know but have decided are true.

Lol you guys are really slow to pick up on old stories. This shit is old news, and has nothing to do with AN as a company. I see people bashing AN all the time, and complaining how expensive they are, but once you actually do the math, they only cost a small amount more then other mainstream hydro nutes. Personally I have never gotten around to trying An, but someday I might. I will also suggest if your concerned about what Gino may or may not have done that you do more research into it beyond asking a question on a cannabis forum. I'm guessing your hydro guy and his friends won't be boycotting anything or "returning" their stock anytime soon.!

I'm only going to assume then that you indeed have all of the facts to this whole story straight that you can come to such a conclusion right? ...And that in conclusion AN rightfully deserves such boycott ?

Lol Zedd you sound just as angry as your avatar looks. I am in no way suggesting I don't care about whether or not a little girl got hurt. Its also not my position to pass judgement on someone based on something that may or may not have happened. You just watched a youtube video and passed judgement on the guy. I read about this all when it happened over a year ago as aeroman said. I'm not gonna claim to know what is the truth, but I'm also not gonna be the guy screaming bloody murder without a clue of the truth.

I only mentioned the price of the nutes because you yourself brought up them being expensive. On that note though. Budman based on the average prices I've seen and the concentration in the bottles if you equate out the cents per gallon of mixed nutes advance is only a few cents more. As I've said I have never used them but the reports, from real growers not advance adds, are that they are pretty concentrated. So if you run 1000ppm we'll say it should take less per gallon to reach that. I've been trying various things over the last 10 years, and my favorite so far is called Envy, it was awesome!!

But back on topic.

My point was simply that boycotting a company that Gino is long part of is pointless. If he committed this terrible crime, then he should be punished appropriately. Perhaps do everything to him that its ALLEGED he did to the victim, once a week for the rest of his life in prison.....that seems like it would be up your alley. Trust me I have no sympathy for child abusers, however I'm not so nieve to believe everything I read or hear on the internet. I also try not to judge others or jump to conclusions.

Hope you have a great afternoon, maybe smoke one, and try to relax its not good for your blood preasure to be so angry.

We were just talking about this in the MI forum. I'll say what I ended with over there.

Yeah mike fucked up by publicly defending his partner, but it's not like could have come out and put his partner on the stake and expect the company to continue being successful by having an ongoing internal conflict.

It looks like he did what he thought he should do by attempting to save face while ginormous still owned Advanced, and quickly bought him out shortly after the incident. You can't just buy out a multimillion dollar company overnight.
