Advanced LED Issue

Hi. I have two 200w diamond series from Advanced LED. Right around when my warranty ended, I had 5-6 LEDs go out. When I emailed the company about how to diagnose, they told me it was because of moisture ( sent photos ) in the mother board. My questions to you all;
1) Aren't LED lights meant to be around grow environments??(aka humid environment )
2) Has anybody else had this issue with their LEDs?

They are but maybe they just got a crap product that you bought into? I've only had a few diodes burn on an ole' Blackstar panel and I've been around LEDs for awhile now.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the joys of active cooling.......ha/jk...........it's just crappy build quality=== more $$$$ in advanced pocket. Hope their new panels have better moisture resistance though.

Crap at $550 a piece lol. But I know what you are saying. How long did you have your Blackstat before a diode went out?

Wow. And that was a new unit? Did it die all together or just few diodes go dark?

With moisture getting into the circuits I'd be looking at serious rusting of the electronic components ..this is a valid point tho, grow room damp/ vs new led electrics ...?
..you would think that the electrics would be sprayed with silicon or some such before assembly ..?

Don't feel bad I defend Mars but I didn't pay what you did but mine had diodes burn out in 15 months and then they sent me diodes with no instructions on which diode needs go where or I could ship them heavy motherfuckers to their repair center they like 56lbs for 2 panels.

It was years ago, my first grow light. The blackstar was an ole version and one of the diodes went out because of temperatures in grow room exceeded 100F; it gets hot in Oregon during the summer and I had like x2 Chromes in the same closet haha.

That's why I do diy lol. I just did a lux test with the mars 2 1600 and my panel and my panel was 10,000 lux more at 39" away and my panel runs at 413 watts not 671watts and my panel dimmed to 186watts and it's about the same FUCK Mars

I'm waiting for the businesses to start pumping out COB-infused fixtures... until then... I'm sticking with DIY projects.

Moisture getting into circuit is nothing but a bad design.

Good point. There is no rust, what the rep saw in my photos was some stickers that wrinkled.. Besides dust, nothing was burnt out or melted.:confused:

Can you go back and dig it out of the trash to open it up and check to see which drivers they use at least? :D

And for the OP, ALED has been known to refuse warranty service for products that are in warranty. If you are out of warranty you are definitely screwed.
