adjusting ph

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to adjust ph in your soil. And will it make that much of a difference, I know thats probably a stuipid question but I am on my second indoor grow and have more plants this time around and I dont think I am going to get half of what I got my first time around. I know ph levels are suppose to be between 5.5 and 6.5 and mine are at 4.5. Will this make a major difference?

You can try mixing something like lime or wood ash with water and soaking the soil. Really though that often turns out to be temporary and actually mixing a product like that into the soil is the best way to go. (Of course that's hard when the plant is grown and already has a root system.) Also yes 4.5 would very much effect growth.

A cheap replacement is a chemical PH tester. They can usually be had for under 10 dollars and will come with 5+ charges.

Some Sodium bicarbonate might work for ya a small spoonful of baking powder though I've never actually needed to adjust my soils Ph it works well In My DWC

Makes The Ph Go Up.......

There not accurate and what little accuracy they may have while new they quickly loose.Buy one if you like, I used one my entire first grow and the results came out fine; but it's not something I would do again.
