Adding supplements to DWC?

You ever try the hum ball from cutting edge?
I have never used store bought tea in hydro because they usually have organic plant food in them. I would worry about the kelp meal. But it's worth a try. The homemade tea is very cheap to make so I never bothered. It is also very handy for starting seeds.

I use a modified Lucas formula in my DWC. The main issue I've had with additives are the same as others have mentioned, most are garbage and some mess with the pH.

Additives I use with Lucas Formula
Epsom Salt A lot of strains are mag hungry (No need for cal-mag, there's plenty of calcium and nitrogen in Lucas already)
A dash of fulvic acid (almost none). Only a touch and suddenly there's plenty of iron and nitrogen in the Lucas formula
Pro-Tekt Silicon during veg and stretch. I want ZERO silicon in my res during flower formation

Pro-tekt is so easy to use during flower it's ridiculous. Mix your res, pH to 5.4, add pro-tekt till your pH hits 5.8. Within 7-10 days the pro-tekt is gone and your pH is at 5.4. Let it keep rising to 5.8 as normal and drop back to 5.4 using nutes as normal. Piece of cake. Great strong branches and vascular system tissue formation, still keep the pH swing and zero silicon in your flowers.

:D

Yummy!

The original link is dead :(

99% of the other places to look it up, have the wrong information. The OG GrowFAQ is responsible for most of that dis/mis-information.
I'll have to see if I can find the copy I made of the original thread. It's been a few years, not sure which computer it's on.

Lucas Formula is a combination of a nutrient mix AND specific reservoir setup and management methods. Using the Lucas Formula without a full pH swing will lead to deficiencies, using it with tapwater will cause all kinds of problems. Using it in an incorrect hydro setup, will cause deficiencies. Managing the reservoir incorrectly, will cause deficiencies.

Operating it correctly creates awesomely clean cannabis. 40-45 gallons of solution per 1000w light,, only r/o water for mixing and add-backs, no pH adjusted water for addbacks, full pH swing between 5.4 and 5.8, nutes used for dropping pH. No-dump, lazy hydro. :)

Pefect, I always wondered what that was. Looks like that by nature Cutting Edges feed chart matches these ratios. I needed something with a higher calcium and iron profile.

wow, it's been so long since I've been to that site I didn't recognize it. That's actually the full thread, completely different theme threw me off. That and the 'printable' version link doesn't work.

Glad it's still around. Devour that info completely, it's pretty much all there. The only thing I remember that stands out to NOT follow is the "Anything under 800ppm does not need a flush." lol Believe me, you'll want to dump the res about 5 days from harvest and just refill with r/o. You'll find a big difference in smoothness and heat when you smoke it. :)
