Adding Extra Stuff To My Buckets

I'm doing 5 gallon bubble buckets, and someone recommended that I use a bit of neem, drop of soap, and sns 209 in my water to combat the springtails that I had been dealing with for a bit now. I followed this and noticed most of the springtails died and washed up on the side of the bucket, however the water has a bit of "off" smell to it now compared to what I am used to. I trimmed my lady back pretty hard before adding this stuff into her bucket.. so I haven't seen much growth in the last 3-4 days that I had this mixture brewing in the bucket though.

Would you guys say this mixture would be okay to continue to use in all of my buckets (including flowering).. as an attempt to kill off these bugs and maybe a bit of prevention with the new ladies introduced into the rooms? I only tried it with the one plant so and I am wondering if this is something I should be doing to all of my ladies. I don't know what is good for them during flowering or not, and if the neem, soap, or sns 209 would mess anything up. I believe the soap and sns209 should be okay during flowering, but using neem on the roots in the water throws me for a loop and I'm not quite sure... specifically during flowering.

Thoughts?

I'm not a hydro guy so can't offer any informed info

Let's ask someone that may know.

@HydroRed this guy has waited with patients for several days for an answer.
Can you offer some insight to this complex matter ?

Thanks
Thank you! I'm hoping to figure this out eventually, lol.

1st, I'd flush out the medium and change your res right away. The mix you were recommended with the neem and soap isnt for the use with sns290 and it is for a foliar spray application, -not for the res.
I personally dont have any experience with the sns290 but after reading up on it, it appears to be a systemic rosemary oil extract with additives to help it be water soluble. With this product the neem oil and soap are not needed and are doing more harm than good. The reason neem oil is used with soap is to help the neem "break down & stick" to the plant. The soap is a surfactant or "wetting agent" used for foliar applications with neem oil.
The sns290 is a systemic meaning is goes into the plant and is stored in the plants cells working from inside the plant. My quick piece of advice is to try to stay away from systemics if you are in flower as most companies dont list "Half-Life" so you dont know how long that chemical is staying in your plants. If you harvest a plant with systemics, then you are smoking the systemic chems as well.:spew:

OK- now that I have the disclaimers out of the way, Use the SNS290 as directed @ 1/2 TBSP (1/4 ounce) per gallon of water used in your res. Since you are using it in hydroponics Id recommend changing out the res (to your normal NON sns290 mix) as soon as you see results begin with the bugs eradication. At this point, there should be enough in the plant for the systemic properties of the SNS290 to work effectively. Follow the preventative schedule in all other stages of growth except flower and you should be able to go all the way through flower without needing to eradicate anything. Hope this helps.
