adding air cooled hoods and CO2 have questions

So after 25 years of growing I will soon be adding air cooled hood and a CO2 tank system. I live in Texas so it is hot (average 105deg) outside in summer can I use outside air as my intake source for the air cooled hoods or will that not work? If that does not work what is the best source of intake air if I'm adding CO2? Is a vent near the ceiling a good spot for intake?

if youre adding CO2 and have an intake wont your CO2 just get blown out of the room?

I believe he means the intake for the lights. Where would you plan on pulling air from and exhausting to?!

pull air from another room and then send it out the other side or out the chimney or window. or into the attic. Need more info on your room.

your trying to seal in 100 degree temps? where is thre room located? i can get away without AC in the basement using ambient air, but if i was in a room and the air that cooled the light and the room swapped with outside air it would not stay cool enough without AC. if you house has AC you could swap with the houses air but this could make your AC work hard, even if you just suck cooled air out the house across the lights and outside your house Ac would be working hard. so in other words yes if your ambient air temps are above 75 your probably gonna need AC to seal up.

This is what I do. I have a sealed room and co2 and I pull air from the room next door ( Yes I had to cut a 6'' hole in the closet ) I vent the air out into the attic through another 6'' hole in the ceiling. I grow in AZ and it's 108 degrees today.. Central AC is what brings my fresh air in, plants produce oxygen and carbon scrubber on floor scrubs whatever stale air is left in the room.

Your in the same type conditions as I am june to october. Although I don't have central air I can accomplish the same with a window unit. This will work for me.

Yeah I hear a lot of growers having success with co2 and window unit AC's I just dont comment on them or recommend them because I dont use one, never have used one and dont know much about the window units. Anyways good luck. Its fucking hot here again! 85 degrees this morning at 6:45 AM .

Can't you use CO2 in much higher temps anyway? i mean I have heard that when using CO2 that higher temps are better...no?

window ac is fine as long as the blower is on the pressure will keep any air from escaping but most window unit are split and dont interact with out side air. most of the time if there are holes in ac to outside they can be sealed.

@ missnu high temps are fine but above 95 youll start seeing issues. i keep it at 85-90, so youll still need an ac depending on grow room location

@missnu yeah Poly is right.. I never like to go higher than 86 or 87 degrees with co2.
