Added Fluros to my 1000watt hps

2.jpgtop 1.jpgDSCF5724.jpg

Added 4 cfls today
2 120watt cfl bloom spectrum
1 24watt cfl bloom
1 24watt cfl veg

So in total with the 1000 watt hps and cfls have 1288watts
With seeing my top colas just starting to form I wanted to put in some lower light.

First time grow and flower. Started flowering each at about 2 ft.

Thanks

Growing from bag seeds but it were some of the best smoke I've had. Every O I picked up I was lucky to get one or two seeds.

The whole space is 7'x13', obviously only using a fraction of that now. Plan on flowering at least 6 plants next time around, or whatever the light will cover, flowering in 5gal gro bags.

I figure it couldn't hurt right? Don't have any heat issues. Was looking to increase my yield, and the cfls I already had from vegging in a trunk. I would have been growing more plants if I hadn't had 4 males in the bunch.

Ok I see some problems.Add some gardenlime to the mix,Also some veg nutes. If your hps bulb is reg and not full spectrum,I'd add a 6500k bulb, and get rid of those other cfl's.Looks like you already started to flower. You should bend the main stem "suppercrop style",so the lower stems can grow out a lil more.I would let them veg some more.

a little extra light never hurts.. i have a 7200k spectrum for my 1000watt MH that i use to flower the first 2 weeks with to help with the "stretch" they do when they flower... then i switch to 2000k 1000watt HPS.. you are fine man.. experiment with the CFLs if u like.. dono how much of a difference in yeild it will actually make but veg. nutes work in the first 2 weeks of flower also to help with the "stretch".. then flower nutes from there on.. hope that helps

i dont have experience with flowering under a full spectrum bulb but IMO id say they only need BLUE light during veg and thru the first 2 weeks of flower to help with the "stretch" then you want to switch to RED spectrum.

7200k is the highest ive seen for VEG bulbs.. and 2000k is the lowest ive seen for FLOWER bulbs...

i had a plan to veg. under a 400watt 7200k bulb, flower for the first two weeks with it aswell.. then switch to a 3200k MH bulb for 2 weeks while they show sex and finish stretching.. then the remaining 4 weeks under 1000watt HPS 2000k bulb

you dont need them flouros..your wasting electricity and its probably only hurting your plants. 1k is a lot of light especially for them tiny little things. more light is never a good thing if your enviornment and everything else isnt perfect.

Thanks for the posts. Yeah I've known about some of the issues and needing to add lime.
This has deff been a budget and somewhat stealth/low maintaince grow. Poor girls have dealt with some heat issues, overwatering and a lil nute burn, happy I went with bag seeds. It is my first time growing anything haha.

At this point just trying to get through with maybe a decent yield, to experiment and try more techniques the 2nd time around.
JoeCa what were you saying about the super cropping, I've heard about LST growing and bending early on. Were you saying to still to do it now in flowering? I apologize for the noobness, you try and research the right answer but theres always more questions.

This I think I'm just going to ride out with the HPS, CFLs, Jack's Blossom Booster nutes and try and get some gardenlime soon.
