Activated Carbon and cigarette/weed smoke

I'm in the process of building a pretty hefty grow cabinet and had the original plan of having ducting running from a window through a carbon filter however i didnt think of the problem with temps in the winter. The cabs going to be in my room (essentially the living room) which everyone smokes cigs and blunts and what have you in... and i obviously cant have the inline coming from the window in the winter soooo my question is:
will pulling air from the room through a carbon filter be enough to filter out the smoke/toxins/blah?

Should be. That's what they are for. To catch the small particles that smoke and odors produce.

yeah man it will work i often think about using a carbon filter in my living room or a closet and turning it on when i smoke. but remember this will decay the life of your filter.
