Just finishing smoking harvest from last round. Sorry I didnt upload pics, heat got a little out of control. Didnt kill my lady, but boy was she ugly. Got 24g dried though, so not too bad. It is however time for round 2. Same set up, but with a better operator :P

Since I've learned from my mistakes last grow, I put in a heat shield. Now I know you're thinking "why bro, its only cfls" but think again, they still get hot. Box was pushing 90-92 with all the lights on, so i bought a 12-12 sheet of plexi for 5$. We're running 78-83 depending on the night, so not too shabby. I've got 6 plants in right now, but Im realistically expecting 2-3 to be female, we're going to be LSTing this round as well.

Screws in 4 corners of box + kite string = shield platform.

Week 2

Week 3

Some burns on one of my plants, I let the coco dry out for about a day, guess i missed it's watering. It got ph lockout and its hurtin pretty bad. Not sure what i did to screw up the little dwc experiment, but im going to assume it got ph lockout as well as some temp issues. Never was very good with dwc.

I spy

some wittle hairs.

Hm. Interesting idea with that heat shield. Your plants are looking really great too. What strain are they? If I missed reading that please excuse me, it's nearly 6am haha. +rep for the innovative setup

I'm curious to know why you had any heat build up. using cfl's if you have your grow space properly ventilated. intake fan at the bottom and an exhaust fan at the top... do away with that plexi as it will cut down on the amount of light that gets to your girls. just saying

Plexiglass has the highest transmittance of light of just about any substance. No offense, but dont repeat something just because you heard it once or twice. A 2-3% reduction in lumens wont do anything terrible. This is what my plants see from the bottom up:

We've got Ch9 Humbolt (the large one), World of Seeds BigBud * Northern Lights auto, and a mix pack full of surprise, so who knows what the other four are, the two that look like they'll actually live look like one sativia and one indica so I'm stoaked about that.

Some updates:
-And then there was one.
-It was like a mini murder mystery in here, every other day someone was dying
-Over nuted the CH9, completely my fault
-DWC died, due to my inability to maintain the water level lol
-My dad came into my apartment to drop off my tax return check while I was in lecture. He murked everyone else except one lady I'd put in the closet to transplant after class. Lol... I expected him to be more confrontational, but he just said I'm old enough to make my own mistakes now. Scary...

Anyways, here we are, i think week 2 of flower. I counted 9 sites earlier. Just hope this finishes smoothly.

Week 3 update:

Coming along nicely, looks like another 24g repeat in my opinion, maybe we'll beat our personal record, even if only by a little.
Should I pot up again? Roots are hitting the bottom again...

Wow!! Sorry to hear about your dad's rampage! :(
That last lady seems to be budding up real nicely though. What size pot is she in now? She might need a bigger one, but maybe not. Transplant shock might slow her down a little.

Yeah i just re-potted her into a sliced distilled water jug. Probably got her in between 1 and 1.5 gallons now. I wasnt really worried about stressing her during the transplant because she was previously in a soft plastic 2 liter. I just sliced through the bottom with a razor, ran through like butter. I also have some mychroiza soluble, which has been making my roots go insane, even in flowering.

I've still been going SUPER easy on the nutes, since I killed my beautiful ch9 humbolt (still kinda sore about her :/ ) and i have some yellowing along the bottom leaves. If I'm not mistaken, week 3 is a wee bit early to be losing lower fan leaves right? Check out the green veins with yellowing outside, think its a mg or calcium deficient? I would appreciate any help though, if there's any subject I'm not that educated on it would be nute schedules/dosages.

Haha yeah, I mean its not that crazy if you think about it. I always mix my soil 50-50 coco perilite, sometimes even 40-60 because i live in a pretty hot/humid region.

Updates:

So far everything IS running smoothly :-P
I'm thinking I've got 3-4 more weeks, any longer than that and this slut is coming down "early".
Lucky for me this isnt a very skunky strain, its actually not very smelly at all. If you get really close to it you can smell the familiar pot smell, with a dash of what i would consider raspberries (MMM BITCH). More updates next weeks guys, and expect a whole new set up/round of seeds in about 2-3 months. Moving soon so I gotta wrap this up

whats your temps at?
Temps are doing some crazy stuff. Daytime is always around 70-74
Night we're looking at anything from 78-87. Summer is approaching and I've responded by unscrewing one 23w before the box comes on, if temps stay around 80 i'll screw it back in which will usually leave me around 83 on average. I did grow out my entire last crop with temps of over 85 (averaging 88,89) every day, beside nute burning it like a noob, she handled it like a champ. I think people forget sometimes that ole MJ is a multi continental champ, just treat her right, and she'll deal.
