Acid, is it a portal to the Universe

I was wondering how many trippers have made a connection to the other side. You know the time when it all became perfectly clear and all the answers were there before your drug affected big eyeball's. Has it changed your lifestyle, and your viewpoint of existence in this universe, or did you just pass it on as a bad trip?

I don't know about a "portal to the universe", but I view psychedelics in general as a portal to the self, or the true self, in certain ways. But I'd say no, taking acid will not just grant one knowledge, in fact I don't think it has ever shown someone new knowledge (ie, something they had never heard of before), they just give a radically different and sometimes life-changing perspective on things.

Acid is wildly overexaggerated in pop culture and a lot of drug circles. It's fantastic, it can bring out the best in movies, music, art and the world around you. And if you take some and start to walk yourself through some personal problems/issues with friends or family and stuff like that, you can get an amazing amount of insight. It's an altered state of perception.

So you're not gonna turn into The Dude in the Gutterballs scene of The Big Lebowski, but it's a wonderful experience and I'd recommend most people try it at least once

Acid was really disappointing for me..... I always thought I'd experience hallucinations like posters coming alive all I ever ease was patterns and now I have closed eye visuals all the time I enjoy them I can also see them in the dark and sometimes there EXTREMELY vivid, like fireworks drawn with oil pastels

I've sadly never gotten any LSD-25 :( That's what I consider the real good shit. I've done some hallucinogenics that definitely were pretty fun... but, my father grew up in the right neighborhood (and it helped he knew hagar's little bro) and got LSD-25 from Leary himself, i've heard some great experiences.. Definitely a bit different than any of the modern day trippers describe their 'acid'.
also it was great that it wasn't all about making money back then..

though if i could come across some real stuff you can bet your money on it i'd be droppin that shit straight to the eye :)

ive never had bad wow, but everything with a print or color has been fake for me so far. id have to say psychedelics in general have made me a much better, happier person not just acid. if we could only taint the water supply with L instead of fluoride, we might get somewhere hah!

I only did LSD to intentionally loose my mind... Was a huge fan of mop up. This was when the LSD was so clean that you could all asleep while mid trip, wake up and still be tripping balls.

i don't think LSD helped me understand the universe but rather, helped me understand myself. It built the foundation of my belief that everything is in our mind...

I don't view it as a portal to the universe from within which you will comprehend the beginning of time or whatever other tripe some fucking pre-teen is going to tell you it's like. It's an altered perception of reality. I remember taking 10 strips of what my new 'locals' called acid but was really a tiny bit of acid probably mixed with 2CB, or whatever the chemical compound is. It really gives you this shitty feeling of an altered perception of reality but you KNOW it's altered; which is the big difference. The one time I was finally able to get my hands on some 100% Lucy from a small op a guy was going I got it in liquid form. I put a couple drops under my tongue and let it sit. With actual acid you won't taste a damn thing. I remember all of it VERY vividly. The most memorable part of the night was watching my dog, who is black and white (spotted), and being able to discern the individual hairs themselves as they congregated and separated into fantastic patterns. His happy face glowed a blue-amber aura and I felt like he was my protector. Ie. If I were to go to a dark place in my mind I could look at him while he would run up to me and lick my face letting me know everything was alright. My room transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors. All of my senses were attenuated to the point where I could hear the slightest sound. I found myself wondering what caused the sound. How did it propagate? At what point wouldn't I be able to hear it anymore? What combination of sounds would coalesce with what I just heard to accentuate that sound.

Then I started watching documentaries. BBC's LIFE and Planet Earth. I felt like the environment being shown to me was what I was currently living in. The sad moments were really sad and the extreme moments (when the Polar Bear fights for his life to kill a Walrus to survive) were pushed to the limits. I felt more connected to things but not in a way that made me understand them more. I continued to question everything I was seeing and hearing. I wouldn't say I understood the universe a little better after tripping. It was more like I have a lot more questions about existence and the very nature of being itself.

I've taken "Acid" twice.

The first time it was amazing, music sounded amazing, and I had a great time looking at a picture of a farm house on fire with zombies in the bushes. Although to be honest I can't think of trees the same way anymore, lol.

Second time: Conmplete shit, it was like i had a rush from coke or something, but it was just weird... (i have never done coke, crack, or anything like that, just weed, shrooms, and i've had acid a couple times).

I've had that sort of "breakthrough" on both caps and tabs. But that's all it is, a feeling. There is no infinite wisdom to be gained. When I sobered up, I couldn't even really coherently explain what was going through my head.

I've been eating acid since I was 16, that's literally half my life. To me, it is a TOOL, no more. It allows different perception yes sure but you have to know how to use it or you'll just fry yourself. It's not a recreational substance in my opinion at all, and going at it for shits and giggles is stupid.

Look, I am sure it is a 'portal' to many things also. But in a sense that the only reality there is is that made by your own brain, EVER. There is NO mutual reality. There is NO assurance that green looks the same to me as to you. So if you want to percieve a connection to other dimensions or whatever you will. Who am I to argue whether this is real or not?

A question: Does it MATTER what others think?... It does only if you want to fit with a certain paradigm. Acid doesn't drive you crazy, it does however isolate you if you're not fucking careful. Realize that your new-found realities will sometimes exist in severe dissonance with that of your brother.

And I stress that it is about perception only. As God Here said, there is no infinite wisdom to be gained, in short, there is no shortcut around the human condition.

Make of it what you wish, but in the words of Aldous Huxley, be vigilant with your mind. Watch your step, cuz.

Acid however doesn't lie man... It might not give you wisdom as such, but if your life's a mess and you're constantly cocking up, it'll let you know, you won't be able to hide behind any excuse or reason for shitty actions. It'll kick you in the balls HARD.

ALWAYS seek the benefits. I repeat, acid is not recreational, and used as such is a reckless companion...

Been awhile since I've dropped but always had a good time with friends. Later when I was coming down, many things I thought about became clear. I'd drift off on random thoughts and the truth would seem so easy to understand.
