Accelerated Heart Rate

A friend of mine that had not smoked in more than 20 years recently smoked with me. He only took a couple puffs, felt good, and went to bed. He woke up several hours later with (very accelerated heart rate) tachycardia. I was curious if this was common, or something to be concerned about?

common side effect. unless of course there is an underliying heart condition. i smoke daily and still get accelerated heart rate, head rush, brown outs.....

Yeah, a head thing. I only really get shit like that if I've been hitting the coke and ecstacy too hard.
