About to go into flowering - some comments and advice :)

Hi everyone

My first attempt at growing went very wrong, I had all sorts of nutrient and PH problems.

So with all that in mind i started to plan my 2nd grow. I ordered a 100watt 6400k CFL for veg and 2700k for flowering however I had a lot of delivery problems. Bulbs kept showing up broken and it took 3 deliveries for me to receive a pair of working bulbs. The 2nd set of plants started out under a pair of 28watt 4100k CFLs while waiting for the 100watts.

Anyways here are some pics at 10 days old. the 2nd pic is after I had it under the 100watt + 2 15watt CFLs (130watt total) for another 2 weeks.

At that point i decided to tie down the plant. The pics are 1 week apart from each other

Now i think that its time to start flowering and I have some questions. I've been using 1/4 Strength Yates Thrive All Purpose Plant Food (Thrive Soluble All Purpose Plant Food - Yates NPK analysis: 27 : 5.5 : 9) every other watering (I water once every 2 days).

I know that flowering requires a different NPK analysis and i was thinking of using Yates Thrive Flower and Fruit Plant Food (Thrive Soluble Flower & Fruit Plant Food - Yates NPK analysis: 15 : 4 : 26).

I live in Sydney, Australia and these are the nutrients that I've been able to find relatively easily from kmart. I was wondering what are some other flowering/bloom nutrients that growers in Australia have been using and where I could buy them from :D

As far as the whole flowering process, after some trolling around here I disocvered that a 36hr dark period before starting the 12/12 cycle is really good to help the plant reset and I will be starting that later tonight so I can have my lights on sometime in the mornings.

So... wish me luck and any tips/comments/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I have another plant going as well not just this 1 hahaha just decided to post pics of this 1 because its my best 1 :joint::joint:

Looking good so far, very nice.
Here's my thoughts....
1/4 strength nutes every 4 days (watering every 2 days) seems like too much. I'd water every 4 days and feed every other water. That would be feeding every 8 days which is probably more than enough. Unused nutes in your soil will turn your soil more acidic and will give you problems. One thing I learned from my first grow...more light, less of everything else.
For flowering your NPK should have a higher P
And I don't know why people use 36 hrs of dark to flower. Its not necessary and its totally unnatural. If there is some advantage to doing it that way please let me know. I was told to leave the lights on time the same and change the lights off time when switching to 12/12.
And most importantly....Good luck!!
