what 40w you need about 2-3 min cfls for a plant dude the more lights the better and your soil could be the problem

will do peeps
some up dates with my plant.

i have 2 26w cfls, and i 19w cfl.
the temp is between 74-76.F
The humidity is between 29% and like 31%.

Also have a pic of the soil im using. it has a mix of perlite in it. and it supposed to hold water better. And it says its a potting mix. Could this be why my plant was growing slow and because of the lack of light?

Thanks

Pics.

Also for vegging stage the humidity should be around 50-60% if you can...mine is like 25% right now so just purchased a humidifier online for like $22 shipped which might help, 20-30% humidity is good for the flower stage though

It's probably not the best soil because it has fertilizer in it (probably time released). However, it's too late to change that now. Next time, make sure you get a bag of Promix or Sunshine Mix without the added fertilizer. You'll know if the soil has timed release fert if you see little balls (almost look like seeds) in your soil.

That being said, you have to work with what you have and it seems the soil isn't too hot considering your plant isn't showing any signs of nute burn. Just make sure you don't fertilize any time in the next several weeks for sure, just go with plain water and only water when the pot feels very light (ie. good and dry) then give it a good soaking until you see some water coming out of the holes in the bottom of the pot. Don't worry about minor visual things like a bit of purple in the stems or a damaged leaf. Keep in mind that most people kill their plants with kindness, not neglect, so don't be too eager to "help" the plant, just let it do it's thing.

As for your lights, of coarse HID lighting is king, but you need practical advise so I will give it to you. You can really enhance what you have there with only a couple of bucks. Go to a dollar store a get yourself some mylar gift wrap (The silver shiney stuff) if you can't get that, aluminum foil will have to do). Now tape that to your surrounding walls, if the walls are too far out, move the plant to a corner where at least you can cover two sides. Then you can make reflectors for your CFLs out of soda cans, just google it or search in this forum and you'll see how to make them. Now rig up a way to hang one of the lights above the plant so it can be adjusted as the plant grows, keep this light about 2 inches from the top of the plant. Mount the other two lights on the sides of the plant, again about 2 inches from the plant. When this is all completed, get yourself a small oscillating fan to keep the heat of the lights dispersed and to circulate fresh air.

As long as the temperature is around 70-75*F and all else is done as directed, your plant should take off. You will want to start flowering it when it's still fairly small because CFL light just can't penetrate much more than a few inches. Just don't expect much bud. Think of it as a learning experience for future grows. If you want weight, than be prepared to invest some cash on setting up a proper environment (aka Grow room) and aquiring some good lighting (ie. 400W+ HPS or MH).

Hope that helped, good luck on your grow.

wait 40+ days, min. 10 sets of leaves, you can switch to 12-12 whenever you want but you will stress your plants needlessly. a good veg will give you more nodes which = more budz!

Hell ya you can flower with cfls, but make sure they are 2700k (soft white) I usually start flowering when my plants are 8 inches with at least 7 nodes. I have never had any problems. Also, in veg my lights are on for 24 hours a day, so I can maximize rapid growth in less time.

Dude, you should put your lights closer. I can really tell the age just by lookin at the stems. So when do you plan on flowering?
