Did i miss it or did u state what is your growing medium?

nice start!
Thanks!

i briefly said it. It is soil. It's a local organic potting mix called Ladybug Vortex potting soil. It has a blend of composts as well as biozome added to create good root structure. Locals swore by it and the hydro shop in town said it was very dependable.

here's their website, http://www.ladybugbrand.com/products/Vortex-Potting-Soil.asp

if you wanted to check it out.

2/21, thank balls it's Friday!

update: lowered light to 22" above plant tops after thoroughly reading A51's specs page and comparing umole needs in veg to output of light at 130w. Since I have 2 plants under the 1 light, and each is on the outer edge of the strongest umole's of the light, in order to get 300-500 umoles they need to be at 20".

temp is 78.4 F RH is 40%
added 1/3 strength FF Big Bloom to today's watering. The next watering, in 2 days, will be all water, no nutes. Then it will be 1/2 strength FF BB and will assess from there.

Ph has been steady at 6.5.

pic is of growroom really, as the plants are still just lil babies.

alright talk to ya'll soon. peace out. it's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Y r u adding nutes to seedlings

^^^ This. If you are feeding seedlings nutes instead of just plain water you probably want to stop now before you burn them into the ground possibly. Wait until the cotyledons, two small round leaves since sprouting, are gone then start in with light feeds working your way up. 1/4 strength or so working your way up over time and in soil you won't feed every watering either. That really depends on the soil. I've grown in soils I had to feed every other watering and ones that I could feed about every two weeks. So be careful.

ok, i'm definitely listening. Those cotyledon leaves definitely haven't fallen off yet. I'll just do regular h2o then until they fall off. I was only going to feed every other watering anyway at 1/4 to 1/2 strength but you guys know best. Thanks for the heads up. Just over anxious I guess.

And I should probably clarify. By gone I mean those two leaves will become depleted in the sense that they will yellow up and begin to shrivel up. As they reach being entirely yellow, if around that time you notice the plant is also starting to yellow a bit and not completely green feed about 1/4 strength to start, see how they do. Then next time you feed, which won't be the next watering for soil, do 1/2 and see how they do. And so on. Similar to what i just saw you were saying you planed to do. Really have to learn to watch the color and many other things about the plant to tell how to feed and when and what it needs. Soil is a lot more variation.

Just curious where you bought you nutes. Do you recall other lines they sold? I've used the FF stuff int eh past and meh... I could do better with cheap GH 3 part basic all day. If they sell GH, Canna, or the bontanicare pureblend pro series you migth give one of those a go the next round. I could consistently pull better with any of those. Just my experience. Right now I'm testing out the advanced nutrients pH perfect sensi for coco. So far no complaints, nice not having to monitor pH, but we will see in the end.

thanks, GK. +Rep for the good advice.

I bought the nutes off the web actually. I ordered the FF trio for soil for like $48 off Amazon but they shipped me one of the fertilizers for hydro by mistake. Luckily I have a pretty good hydro shop in town that just swapped it for a soil one for me. I chose Fox Farms because a buddy of mine had good luck with their stuff, but after I bought it I noticed a lot of people have burned their plants with them and to make sure I go real cautiously with them.

They seemed to have Advanced Nutrients, General Hydro and a few others in stock so after this grow I may make the switch. Thanks for the advice. It rally depends on how this grow goes. After spending a good amount of cash, I'd like to be able to harvest a couple rounds off of what I paid before I start spending more money though. A hobby is a hobby though, and we all know how much they cost you.

That's cool. And yeah most definitely use up what you've already put out the money for. But you might be a little surprised how fast nutes go. Well depending on your system. Though higher feeding systems like coco, hempy and hydro you will go through them faster though you will also see faster growth rates. If you venture into the GH world it's cheap and effective. search around for GH regimens if you want, but can't go wrong with the lucas, a modified lucas, or the useless formula. But, yeah man, hobbies are always expensive. Tell me about it just got rid of my stuntbike, that shit was a money pit.

If you don't know what a stuntbike is then check this out this is from our last 2 lot seshs. we do a 420 and end of year sesh out here every year.

What's up people, sorry I haven't updated in a week or so. My house had a leak in a wall and I had to pull up all the flooring, hurt my back in the process, and now the insurance companies will figure it out. Hopefully it doesn't fuck my operation.

anyway, I moved the two ladies outside this afternoon just for a few hours while the insurance inspector fucks around in my house looking at the leak/damage. I took apart the grow room too. I just didn't want to get in any shit. Yes I am being safe, and yes they will be going back in the grow room this evening.

here a few pics. My main concern is they don't seem to be doing anything. Perhaps it's like the phrase "a watched pot never boils," or something. They look healthy I think but they sure seem to be growing very very slow to me.

i went back to straight water, and only used nutes that one time. I only water every other day, sometimes two days off in between. Am I watering too much still? My moisture meter says the soil is moist to wet in most places in the center of the pot, but the top of the soil is definitely dry.

alright, as always, I appreciate whatever feedback ya'll are going to give.

thanks.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Yeah i did. Not recently, though, it was probably about 8 or 9 days ago.
There ya go, let em grow roots before you transplant, after transplant it takes time to recover and then the energy goes to developing roots again, they will start gettin bigger in the next week or so

Ok that's good to know. I had them in 16oz clear cups to start, and when I transplanted them the roots actually had grown to the point of hitting the bottom of the cup and beginning to curl. I thought it seemed like the right time but probably not.

hopefully they kick back into some lead growth soon
