I know a good man whom would probably consider himself open minded evangelical without being part of the political cult.

He is telling evangelicals that they have ruined the brand for good this time- that it can’t be unwoven from trumpism now.

They all reply to him, “but Hillary....” and he always stays calm but reminds them that’s no longer the choice... that just because you voted for him does not mean you must continue to support him or at least do t have to support every single action...

This guy is good for them as he’s still seen as one of them so they listen a bit more to him than me... I think they kinda view him like the crazy cousin! Lol

I hope there’s more out there like him...

The hypocrisy is so glaring they feel boxed in by their choices. That's like cornering a wild animal; there's no telling what they might do. Expecting rational behavior or thoughtful reflection is asking a lot in normal times, which these are definitely not.

Yet another fault line dividing our country.

Does anyone think this will end in anything but tears?

Nah. They don't feel boxed in. They see an opportunity. They know Trump needs them and that he will whore for their support.

Yeah. The idiot followers of these con men believe it will end in the rapture. I don't think the preachers believe it. They just want the monies.

Jesus would have hated them. Evangelicals are a cult that was easy to integrate into the personality cult of Trump.

modern day pharisees...

In the Gospels, the Pharisees are often presented as hypocritical and proud opponents of Jesus. The Lord stated it bluntly: “They do not practice what they preach” (Matthew 23:3). As a general rule, the Pharisees were self-righteousness and smug in their delusion that they were pleasing to God because they kept the Law—or parts of it, at least. As Jesus pointed out to them, however scrupulous they were in following the finer points of ritualism, they failed to measure up to God’s standard of holiness: “You have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness” (verse 23).

You just started a thread ostracizing a specific group of people and then comment about dividing the country. You're a joke, dude.

perfect! i'm going to leverage 23:3, i can remember it and all the beaters will know it because they 'read' the bible.

reading doesn't equate to practice.

im going to be my own version of jules:
