So I live in a townhouse complex which has a back patio area where neighbors can look down and see into. I have 6 plants and live in California (orange county) which is deemed to be a bit on the "conservative" side of the fence. I'm at home often and can hear the neighbors making snide remarks and downright insulting. ("trash, loser, etc."). Now, I really enjoy 420 and its very beneficial for my anxiety and to relax. Yet, growing it I feel intuitively that I'm in the wrong- not just because its illegal but I'm somehow making the neighbors suffer. I really wish they'd understand I'm not growing to sell it, but for personal use. I definitely can see how the smell, or plain sight of 420 can be somehow offensive. Nobody wants to be distracted by something deemed illegal coming from a shitty 9-5- it can prove to be an easy scapegoat. I'm also shocked how people are so offended by it yet they medicate their children with ritilin and other Rx. Is that because one side which has all the power legitimizes their form of medication? I feel more comfortable when I allow myself to think about it, but still feel bad for the neighbors.

Avoid all these pesky issues by growing indoors. Never let anyone know you grow or you may face a violent crime. Remember no tell, no smell, no sell, stay safe out there.

I'm assuming your neighbors are older than 40? What is acceptable, for most people, is mandated by the status quo. People often develop one set of standards and it doesn't evolve with the changing culture/society. It sounds to me that they need to put down on someone to make themselves feel whole. If they are well off, like you imply, I'm sure that could be the case. They need to feel superior... I mean... they have the money to prove it after all, lol. Deep inside, they know they aren't anything special and have to build one another up.

You came to the right place.
I'm sure there is something or someone here that will point you in the right direction, from what you've said it seems a risk vs reward kind of deal and to be truthful there is more risk then reward when dealing with the unknown {pesky neighbours}.

Hey sweetie, you know I agree with your point on the whole however I think we are aiming it at the wrong demographic. We are talking children of the 60's here. I promise you most of us knew all about pot. Unfortunately maybe that's the problem a number of us have some significant memory impairment... So my guess is ...... um yeah....

i would just ask them for a moment of time next time
you see one and just let them know your using it for meds
and your not a pusher..if they dont like it, quietly go inside
wait till dark, then light a.brown bag with shit in it on fire and
ring the bell,knock,etc. im almost positive youll feel better

Thats not your problem that they take offense op, its theirs. If I were you I would care less, but I would also grow inside man. Some people just dont give a fuck about others; I would never chance the livelihood of my plants on shotty neighbors.
