Haven't given birth but those things don't tickle. Don't be scared though. You have to be a still as you can possibly be for them to be able to get it in the exact location but once it is in, you are good to go.:-|

i hate needles. always have. they are going to be using an X-ray while they do it so they get it in the exact locations it needs to be. hopefully that will make it a little better.

Compared to the labour pains, it was like a little pin prick, lol. The thing is though, you gotta sit really still, can't move a muscle. If they slip, you could be paralyzed. That is what they told me, scared the hell out of me too, lol. But like a second later, you start to feel it, like a warm sensation starting to radiate from the needle spot. That was wierd. Then you feel nothing waist down, lol. So make sure you poop before cause I have heard you can poop without you being able to do anything about it, lol.:peace:

fdd...do not want to mess you up or anything, but having broke my neck I have had several of these things...the first was fine it kills the pain but does not solve the problem..the second one I got the doc that gave it to me went all the way through, so when I got home I started having these monster headaches...come to find because he went all the way through my spinal cord was leaking...I had to go back to the hospital and they draw blood and put it in your spinal cord and that makes the fluid clot and it stops up the leak...just thoght I would let you know....

I didn't have any pain medications for labor- but my mother (of 4) had an epidural just with me- ever since then the nerves in her back have been fucked up and the dr. said it was due to the epidural and that it was a "risk" you took from getting it... that was back in 88 tho...just saying..
