A question about rain.

Hello guys.

Well I live in a tropical country and rain season is right around the corner. In fact today the day is so overcast Im even thinking of leaving my plant under its CFLs all day long.

But the whole point of this post is that since I am planning of flowering her out in the sun, is asking If rain represents an inmediate danger to my buds. I know these plants tend to grow in the wild but mildew is a real concern. Ambient humidity tends to go down when rain starts though, but the plants could get constant showers.

Since I live in a place where some things are very hard to come by, commercial horticultural fungicides like the ones people recommend around this forum are close to impossible to get. But someone on this forum mentioned a solution of skimmed milk as a way to treat mildew. Is this even effective?

Saludos.

IMO that would lead to more chances of mold then anything else.. best thing you can do in a very wet situation is either keep them inside or go out after every shower and shake the excess water off the plants. should beef them up a lil bit also..but yes rain will cause mold in your buds if left alone.. i usually have about 2 weeks of rain and fog in my final stages outside so i am very vigorous about checking on them during that time.. also lil spiders like to build homes in the buds when it rains a lot that is the worst one of all.. opening a beautiful bud and its full of webs and spiders.. so just keep on top of them and any excess water needs to be shaken off so airflow can dry the inside's good luck KEEP ON GROWIN..

Well thanks a lot. I think Ill keep a small blower at hand, its not too potent so it would rip leaves off or cause plant damage, but enough to giver her a good shake. For her size she already has a pretty strong stem so it should help wonders.

Add perlite to the soil and about 2 inches of pebbles below the soil this will allow faster drainage of the soil so it doesn't stay soaked and will help with soil mold, and as the last guy stayed get the water off the plants u can use paper towels and set them until the leaves if your afraid of shaking the plants. U could invest in a canopy to place over the plants during heavy seasons of rain so that the water doesn't make direct contact wot the plants and just move the canopy for the sun when the rain stops
