A Pro Palin thread

I don't understand what the purpose of this thread is. Are we supposed to comment on Palin, Stevens, or both?

Personally, regarding Palin, I don't think she ever has a chance to represent the republican party again on a grander scale. She's too polarizing, in my opinion. She represents what so few American demographics stand for, so her influence is quite small.

I would love to see republicans gain strength by moving towards the old-school conservative ideal. I do not like neo-cons (like Palin and Bush) and want them to fade away. I want to see a party whose base is fiscal conservation and personal independence. I would also love a potent third or fourth party. 230 million people cannot be fairly represented by two very similar parties. I would like to see at least 4 viable parties. Would I like to see Palin in charge of any 4 of these hypothetically viable parties - hell no!

So you dislike her. Point for Palin.

"Old school conservative ideals". In God we trust?

Is this a thread about bashing Palin ... or a thread about bashing Christians? If its about bashing Christians, then let's start a thread about bashing African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Women, the elderly or the infirmed. Or, don't you see the parallels?

Je-SuS she's impressive, isn't she?

I'm not a religious person, but was raised Catholic. You as well have inferred you are not religious, or maybe just frown upon this variety. Should we look with disdain at those who are? Have you ever been to a religious friends house and bowed your head, crossed your hands, waited patiently, and then ate dinner. Or do you stare in disbelief? I bow my head. I understand the concept of religion and can completely understand why many people choose to believe in God. It comes as no shock to me. Religion, after all, is no more preposterous than the very fact of our own existence.

Whether she agrees with the traveling Pastor, his techniques, his message, etc., is irrelevant to my understanding of her conservative ideology, and her brilliant intelligence. The founders, whether deists or very religious men, were moral people. They passed directly to Sarah Palin, through her parents, and her parents parents parents parents...., this defining morality. She would make a damn fine leader, does make a damn fine leader. That is my personal belief, and that's why McCain garnered my vote. Scumbag. Damned fine patriot though, and laudable to be sure. I do love him for that.

And, while attacking her intelligence, you vote for Biden.

And, while attacking her loony religious leaders, you vote for Obama.

For starters...:blsmoke:

Well, thanks for being so tolerant as to "allow" me to believe in a talking man in the sky, jfgordon.

What is really worrisome to me, is the intolerance of those who claim to be the tolerant ones when it comes to other people's religious beliefs. Why worrisome? After 70 years of destroying Christianity in the Soviet Union under communist rule, what is Russia left with? No moral compass, that's for sure.

I don't know where you're coming from, jfgordon, but you should know that statists of all stripes want to wipe God out of the equation for a very simple reason ... their god is the god-state, and in their view, there is no room for an opposing viewpoint.

Don't be a sucker, man. The anti-religion propaganda is being spread for a very sinister reason.

I mean not to bash religion as a whole. I do not believe in such... but that is not a cause... if it is a cause it is a dogma of its own. I mean to attack this specific variety of religion... and the mindset which follows it.

I'll make it easier for you... pretend she is a Muslim. I take the same liberty.

As to Obama's religious leader... this is what HE had to say... and I concur.

Did the traveling preacher marry the Palins, baptize their 5 kids? Did Palin repudiate her preacher as was appropriate, for her campaign? You make the point. Morality is for the moral. A moral man wouldn't drop his preacher of twenty years for political expediency. A moral man would stand by his crazy ass side.

This is what HE had to say, and I wince...

“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.”
“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” (Sep 2001)
“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.” (2003)
“In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.” (magazine article)
“Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!…We [in the U.S.] believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.” (sermon)
“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary would never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”
“Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.” (sermon)
“The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.”

Did the traveling preacher marry the Palins, baptize their 5 kids?
He was a friend. Some of my friends think 9/11 was an inside job, including the best man at my wedding. One of my best friends think that aliens have abducted them. Do they express my beliefs? Would, if asked, I suggest that they are less valuable to me because of their beliefs?

Would I dare say that their rather psychotic dogmas do not impact my decision making? Damned skippy.

Would I suggest that my position came to be because of alien help? See video 3.

Did Palin repudiate her preacher as was appropriate, for her campaign?
Of course not. She believes it. FFS she has an anti-witching spell and prayer which got her elected. What does she have to fear?

You make the point.
Back atcha.

Morality is for the moral. A moral man wouldn't drop his preacher of twenty years for political expediency. A moral man would stand by his crazy ass side.
A moral man would speak the truth, even if it causes his friend pain, because this nation is more important even than that friendship.

Seemed to me he dropped his preacher because that preacher, and friend, attacked him for saying I love this man, but he does not represent me, or my beliefs.

This is what HE had to say, and I wince...

Again... the shit my friends say makes me wince. The shit my own family says sometimes makes me cringe.
