Hey guys i'm a first time grower, long time smoker. Well i got a little problem, i live in central canada and my plants are huge but still no bud. I was wondering when they should start budding and if they will have enough time to fully develop since first frost is around mid october. The strains i am growing are lsd by barneys and master kush by nirvana. Thanks for the help in advance!IMG_0100.jpgIMG_0101.jpgIMG_0098.jpgIMG_0099.jpg

Ok so I did a search for (rise/set) times for Edmonton. It came up with 14h 14m of day light (for 8/23/12), so take off 30 mins for dusk and dawn puts you at 13 hours of light. You should see flowers starting sometime this week (if they haven't already). You say this is your 1st time growing so you might be over looking signs...or they could be male. If they start flowing this week then that gives you a month and a half of flowering time before frost (as you clam will be mid Oct.). That's not enough time for them to fully finish, but you should get something from them.

I think there's a reason not many people grow outdoors in canada. Next year go for an indoor grow or start them inside around April and then move them outside when its warm.

dude the plants in canada can take the frost. Trust me i know from experience.

Last year i harvested late october like real late. the weather was cold and shit for three weeks prior to harvest. The plants were fine.

Honestly theyl prob be fine jus keep close watch on them, and harvest when there ready or when u think ther ready.

Ok I would agree with you if he had grown the same strain there for a few years and his strain was climatized. I don't know the weather very well in canada but I would think it gets colder sooner then in the states.

Another tip I can give you Joban is use some wood chips at the base of each plant. As long as the roots don't freeze then you should be ok till they finish.

Give them some bloom booster. For next grow, you might use a small greenhouse or simple frame that you can throw a tarp over to extend the nights. Nice plants :)

I'm just south of Ontario in NY state and I grew Nirvana master kush last year and they didn't start flowering until about first of September and when the fall rains came they were very susceptible to mold. I lost about two thirds to bud rot. Not a good strain for this climate Nirvana even says they're an indoor strain.

This year I'm growing some nirvana northern lights crosses and they're doing great- been flowering about 3 weeks.
