a little confusion with hydro

Right now I have a handwatered coco and perlite mix in regular buckets with drainage holes now is this correct just like soil just watered a little more? Or are u supposed to have another bucket over the first bucket to keep a res.... Im shooting for a simple drain to waste system so is that just treated like soil or is their an extra step like I said above?

Yeah, you're doing it rite. Get rid of that run-off. Make sure and water with nutrient solution EVERY time until roughly 20% run-off is acheived.
I think you are getting confused with the people doing hempy pots. You are just doing a simple drain to waste, which works killer with coco also.

Yeah I was having an issue with the lighting a watering I had it too hot and over watered so I had to move it down to the next section in my veg room because that was originally made for smaller pots and 2 plants so I never adjusted so I messed up a bit hope she survive I had to switch out the coco coir and move her away from the lights she was getting droopy and crispy not a good combo at all

She got worse before I realized what was wrong I knew something was wrong though it was my nutes or something but it was over watered and over heated so it was hard to figure it out

Im not an experienced cannabis grower, and I don't want to come across as an arse, but

Please grow some normal plants (like chillies or pansies or bagseed) and exercise your green thumb before you kill another helpless cannabis plant bro! Us noobs take the holy herb too seriously and overthink/overwater/overfeed/cook our plants out of showing too much love

It grows just like any other plant in a pot - so try get the basics right before toasting expensive seeds, it might seem silly but could save you in the long run... I spent 6 months with chillis in coco/perlite testing out my nutes and stuff before I got started on my first grow... so far so good (day 12)

This is like saying

"You wanna get good at basketball? Start with playing a little soccer before hand.... its less embarrassing missing shots with your feet"

Best way to get good at growing herb? Grow herb.

Seeds are spendy but not THAT spendy!!

Not to be an arse but you could learn concepts like passing, point/zone defence, offence-defensive placements and team work which would help you play basketball...

But horses don't play basketball.

OP: don't kill that plant, just take it outside and plant it in a quiet corner of a nearby park - nature is a fair judge and when you come back in 3 months - who knows you might just have a successful outdoor grow! doesn't hurt to try...

Honestly I had 4 successful grows before this but this was my first grow in coco coir and I grow tomatos and basil every year so I do know what I am doing this is the first time I experienced anything like this so I came here for advice and honestly I've only been called a noob even though I am a noob to using forums for help I usually use books and guide but for some reason dump to waste hand watered coco coir information is hard to come by apparently my containers or water got contiminated and caused root rot yes I may have jumpped into hydro with out much thought of how drastic the change was but I've been growing various plants and herbs since the age of 8 and I am 30 now so I am not new to this only root rot

You lost me at horses

This plant is still a babe! Treat it right and it will bounce back in a week or two.

Yeah I cleanned up the roots washed everything out with mild soap and water and put rooting hormones put into rockwood and buried the rockwood into coco coir and I'll treat it like a fresh seedling for a while and hope the terminal produces New fan leafs the death older growth can fall off and continue to flurish my first grow I burnt and I pretty much had to do something similar I honestly never seen a healthier plant after that and I got an amazing yield 2 oz on a 4 foot Afghan I was confused by it but my other 3 yields Sat at around an oz
but if I realized what was going on 3 days ago everything would be good I just never had root rot before first it looked like over watered then it looked underwatered then it just went crispy and I did some research and found that root rot will cause that to happen so I figured I'd take a look I pulled her up and looked and it was dark coloured and bound not white and stringy. I never just get rid of a plant I will always try and save it I am going to just let her go for about 3 days with out even looking at her and then I'll check it out and see where I am if it doesn't work out I have an Afghan but I don't know weather it's going to be male or female but I may start that one and order a new fem And go from their.

Please keep us updated jonathanvs, looks like I can definitely learn something from you - salvaging that plant would be an inspiration.

Well its too late to do anything else with it now that you uprooted it.

I would treat it more like a clone until you see some new growth. Keep its foliage fed with a spray bottle until you see new growth, then treat it like a seedling.

No nutes. Maybe a TINY bit of bloom fert. The phospherous will promote root growth.

An enzyme would also help promote clean root growth and battle any existing pathogens.
