A few quick diy cob questions :)

Hi guys! I'm working on a cob LED fixture and was looking for some imput. I'm going to run 3 Vero 29's, 2 3500k's, 1 2700k the 'D' version. I've got 2 passive (650 gram) heatsinks and 1 active with a fan. I have the heasinks/fram built already, and the LEDs come today. I have plenty of wire and a potentiometer. Anyways I've been going back and forth for weeks deciding on a power supply. I've been looking at the Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400B, but I'm just not sure if that's going to work? Should I get the HLG-240H-C1400B instead? What would You guys recommend? Also in regards to wiring, I've seen that most people wire in series, I was planning on just that until my electrical engineer brother told me I need to wire them in parallel and use a resisor in line with each, am I better off in series? Do I still need a resistor? I've got experience in wiring, but I Really don't want to screw this up and ruin my LEDs/power supply/burn down my house lol. I'm going to be growing in a 2x2 tent. Right now I have a 300 watt maxsisun light that does okay, but I'm ready to really light it up :) thanks for any input, and sorry if this is in the wrong place :)

Your brother may not be aware of the specs of the driver you're using to make those suggestions.

No resistors needed, and serial wiring is correct for that particular driver.

At 1.4A, those cobs will run at 37.2V, in series 3x37.2=111.6V. 111.6Vx1.4A=156watts on the hgl-185h-c1400 driver.
156W/(2x2')=39watts per square foot, plenty, no reason to get the 240 driver.

Alternatively, you could go with the hlg-185h-42 driver and wire in parallel. This would run at 4.4Ax37.3(ish?)V=164watts, a small bump in power that will possibly put you in CO2 territory.

Thanks! That's awesome I'll probably go with the 185...I don't think I'm ready/willing to jump to CO2 quite yet, I'm still on my first grow 10 weeks into flower with what seems like a forever to go :) I can tell from what I've grown so far that the light I currently have just doesn't have that ooomph I'm looking for, can I expect drooling results upgrading to these cobs? :)
