A few brown dried buds on the tips..

I'm very close to harvesting but was wondering why a few of the my bud tips or sort of brownish in color and a little on the dried out side. To the touch they seem almost dried and a little brittle. But it's only the tip of the bud on three or four branches. Everything from the dried out tip down looks really nice and green. Is this what's called N Def or possibly getting sick? I was going to removed the dried out bud tip and put it to the side. I'll still try it to see what it tastes like. I'll trying showing a more healthy bud tip and then the picture to the right is the dried bud tip. Anyone have any idea about this. Thx.

Same issue here, outdoor. About a week away from harvest. It started two days ago. Mine aren't the top buds but it is happening on a couple of plants. Not sure what to do.

Happened on my last grow when all was said and done didn't make a fucking bit of difference in the smoke. I just assumed it was from having my light too close, however this was only an assumption and I am not trying to give a definitive answer.

I'm a bit blazed and forgot to actually look at the pics you posted and to my eye they don't look like there's anything wrong.

I'm so close to harvesting I'm not even worrying about it this point. If it had happened two or three weeks ago I would have been trying to figure out what was causing the top of the bud to get a little brown & dry but this late in the game I'm not sweating it. I'm not sure if you can tell but I posted two pics and the one on the right shows the top of the bud looking a little brown and everything below the brown area is nice and green. I probably have four or five bud tips that are like this. To the eye and to the touch they are clearly different than the rest of the buds. And it's not the entire bud. Just about and inch of the tip of the bud. This plant is so covered in big buds that a few little crisp one aren't going to make a difference. thx.

It looks like budworm damage. Have you removed the dead bud and looked for worms or worm shit? It's exactly what some of my worm damaged buds looked like.

Id check it out man u gotta investigate i had browning crispy top part of a couple of buds turned out to be budrot, but i mean crispy brittle and twisting bud leaves too.....didn't look quite the same but id make sure its something that can't spread....n id bin the nasty bits!

It's bud rot...carefully cut it out 1 inch below where it ends and throw it away. Had it bad 2 years ago, lost a lot of good bud.

were getting two completely opposite answers. One says its bud rot and the other says its nothing to worry about. I know bud rot can make people sick. I don't think i'll take any chances.

I think it's possibly bud rot and budworm. I already cut off the four or five bud tips that we're obviously dry, crispy and I possibly even noticed some little tiny black & white specs that I thought looked like droppings or larvae or something. I might even cut back just a little below that area when I harvest just to make sure I'm getting rid of that stuff. This is only on a very small amount of my buds and I'm only seeing at the tips. I would say less than 5% of the plant showed this dried out crispy tip of the bud. I'm going to pitch it and harvest only the nice lush green stuff. Thx.

Good call dude. I had to snip a few bits from my mid flower plant the other day too, i have started checking every bud quite thoroughly now. First plant i had it on had a crispy top but also turned out to have it more severely on the lowest buds.....

sounds like you got it early tho i would cut back the extra bit right now, otherwise there's a greater risk of it spreading and you will possibly end up having to throw away more bud......I'm still fucking paranoid that my harvested buds arent gonna be ok to smoke (currently curing) but visually they look perfect, smell nice, sample i tried is fine but im taking the buds out of the jar everyday and really checking, to the point where if it looks too fuzzy ill check with my loupe. So far its all been a SHIT load of thc crystals hehehehe

I was going to say check the buds for caterpillars. I noticed some of my buds started browning and dying a few weeks ago, looked around and found 3 budworms munching away and got rid of them. Problem solved!
