A couple questions on BHO metal or glass?

Ok so this coming up harvest I'm hoping to have enough trim to make a small batch of BHO, this would be my first time making it.

I would think glass would be better for the extraction process than metal? I know I have read that PVC can pollute the final product, is this true?

The reason I ask is because I have a buddy that used to blow glass that knows a glass blower who would blow me a custom 5mm-7mm thick glass extractor for 15 bucks.

So I'm wondering if I should save my 15 bucks or invest? Will it be a waste because metal or even PVC is somehow miraculously better?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Thanks for the quick response stumps, yeah I have read some of the DIY threads I was just wondering which is the best material for an extractor and why. I'm looking to make the purest product possible.

So even though the glass is 5mm-7mm thick "science glass" (as my friend calls it lol) it will still break? My RooR is a 5mm green ice roor and it's pretty thick, is it the pressure that would break the glass? Or the cold plus the pressure?

Also will metal give me a purer product than glass or pvc?

Sorry for all the questions Stumps just trying to get a good pure end product. Again thank you for your input and advice, it's much appreciated.

if its pyrex it might be ok. was just in a thread going back and forth on what to use. I've always used pvc but next time around I'm going to use the stainless. I was thinking more of dropping the glass. as a long time stoner I drop shit alot. lol. when I do this I mount the extractor on fence post with a hose clamp. I don't even buy glass peices any more. they never make home before I brake it.

I think I'm gonna try it, and if it fails eh it's 15 bucks, no big I guess lol. Yeah I'm pretty careful with my glass, and I'd probably wear safety glasses, gloves and hold it with a towel wrapped around it just in case it did shatter lol.

Thanks again Stumps.

I use 3 lg cans of butane for a 3/4x14" it takes about 10 min to spray and drain the butane. I stop and go with the first can faster with #2 and full open on the last one. I do this to 1. cool every thing off in the tube.2 make sure every thing get a good dose of butane.

i would try not to use metal around pouring fumes of explosive gas, simply because i wouldnt want to be another bho horror story lol. static electricity can cause a spark that spark could possibly set you ablaze. invest in the glass if its tempered and good and thick it shouldnt get too stressed due to the cold alone, changing the temp rapidly would cause it to shatter, but if the glass is thick it will take some time before the ice cold temp transfers from the inside to the outside of the pipe. glass is an insulator thus cools and heats slower than a conductive material like metal.
