I think cuddlefish are such beautiful badasses: their skin can camouflage into any shape, color, and texture, and can also hypnotize their prey with rhythmic colorful pulses. Super smart creatures. They look like alien spacecraft hovering, it's amazing that natural selection could result in such complex creature. They really do seem designed...

They're quite smart indeed. They're plentiful in Indonesia and they don't tend to flea just because people observe them. They seem to observe right back.

This is a living creature called a ricordea. It’s a soft coral found in the Florida keys and the Caribbean. They fluoresce under blue light, and the green dot in the middle at the top is its mouth. This particular one used to be part of my collection.
