Mixing it up a bit... didn't get to repot to smartpots... will tomorrow... no time. Moving ogk#1 to big chamber and g13xhp to small chamber until ogk#1 done... she's about 2" from the big lights.

I just had an idea while posting in an LED thread for an interesting expiriment. I'm going to take one of my 240s out of the flower cab and flip the orientation of the lights to match the cab dimensions, leaving 3 flowering blackstar 240ws. I'm gonna put the other one in the closet with all the plants about to go to flower... so it'll be 2 flowers with 1 veg in the middle and roughly the same size space (closet a bit bigger). I think 2 flowers + 1 veg will outperform 3 flowers. I'm going one each of my apollo #2 cuts (identical genetics) in the two chambers and see if there's any noticable differences.

Got the unusual chance to take some sunlight shots... when I bring'em out of dark in the morning the light coming through the window is perfect to sit on'em for a few minutes before I either take'm to water or put them under the lights. Took a whole plant shot but was too bright

how did you find og kush to grow? she's been the least hardy strain in my garden (both from fem seeds). mine are reserva privada which are yours? not real impressed but the femmed sour kush i grew looks like it's going to be the bomb and much hardier. i'm not sure what kind of yield i'm going to get on the OGs. buds are small but dense, and since they always have some kind of issue hard to say... i actually decided they might be rootbound and decided to just transplant them... they were in 1.2 gallon pots but airpots so who knows... anyway it's done now. i started transplanting to smartpots but couldn't get them all done. Still have 3 more to do. I decided to keep the apollo cuts in their small containers and veg them longer maybe put them into flower in 3 or 4 weeks when the apollos start coming out. This grow is getting fucking huge it is totally unstealth now... everything's in the one room but there's no hiding it quickly whatsoever and it won't fit in two cabs. I'd need two more cabs one tall and one small to handle what I got going, and that may be what I am for.

I moved the lights like I said I was going to.. there are now 3 in each chamber with the one veg in the middle. It is definitely more luminous than the flower lights. I really have a hunch that 2:1 flower:veg 240w blackstars is going to be the thing. Or even 2 and 2 :)

First off happy 420 too all of you^^^........girls look good sensi, the leds seem to be working for you.........Gotta love RIU, i just saw some kid using reusable grocery bags as a cheap "smartpot"....fucking brilliant:)

And those grocery bags are square aren't they? I wonder how well they work for him, might have to look into that. I think they're bigger than I want still though

That looks like a pretty good garden you got going there. Just a suggestion, you might want to put the Exhale bag above the plants so that the CO2 rains over the plants. Remember CO2 is heavier than oxygen. And I also use LED's for my garden. My plants love the Lumigrow ES330, and the H150's from Kessil. I have about 1,275 watts of usable light and only consume around 550 watts of electricity. And that is including my two inline fan/ carbon filter combos, and three oscillating fans. Keep up the good work.

No the smartpots are round. I have been trying to figure out how I'm going to do tiedown training... thinking about trying latching them to the handles.. we'll see.. tho that might make them hard to hold. So far they seem pretty good -- definitely a lot less water wasted. Downside they were much messier to repot plants into easy to spill dirt over the top because it's fabric and just pushes down not hard plastic. I'm sure with adjustment that'll happen less. I'm not unhappy with the airpots and the watering is not really any faster with my current watering method, which has sped it up dramatically (no longer using a sprayer) -- in the end it comes down to results -- which grows better plants and bigger buds.

I know the exhale is supposed to go above the plants but I can't figure out any way to do that -- if I were to somehow hang it directly above the plants it would block light. I don't think there's room above the lights even if there is it would be right above vent exhaust fans blowing straight up and obstructing airflow. The way it is now the seal is right around the base of the plants... the ventilation from the LEDs circulates the air up so the CO2 should generally be getting pulled up through the leaves for the most part if anything... the cab is almost never closed so it probably does not matter anyway.

You know it's sad when one of your top criteria is 'where is the grow room going, and is this room going to be good for it' -- I found a couple of good ones :) Either way we go is going to be good... our top choice we may not get as there are other offers in already but has 2 bedrooms in the master bedroom of good size... the other has an extra room on the 2nd floor I can use with no direct view from any other houses so you could actually have a grow with the window unblocked for some indirect sunlight, AND it had a nice sized closet to be used for a darkroom/bud drying room. It's to the back of the house from everything else as well so it's the last room you'd get to if you were ever poking around -- of course we'll put a lock on it :)

Argh fuckin youtube... if you do a micro vid don't let them correct camera shake... made everything blurry and vibratey... if it looked blurry to you and not clear you saw that version of the video... i'm having it undo that change now - it's a usb digital microscope

Things are looking good... I am definitely thinking trying to add nutes in on top of supersoil really fucked me on the apollos (yellowing/burn) -- though they are definitely fine for the stage they're at just not optimal with almost no yellowing like I had hoped/wanted. Live and learn. The White Russian which I believe has had little or no added nutes due to her time in flower is really plumping up with dense buds that have visibly gotten bigger and thicker in just the last 2 or 3 days and she's had very little yellowing compared to the others. The only time she has had an issue with that is when she did not get watered on time and wilted at the bottom. Hoping that lasts. I topdressed her with some super soil this morning. I can't remember if I did at 3 weeks but I didn't see any of my new supersoil mix on top (easy to tell with the crab shell mixed in) so I went ahead and did some. She has space for one more topdressing of soil that I'll give her again in 3 weeks before the final fattening phase. If the high matches how she looks, I may have to order more seeds since I didn't get a clone. Ordering from the original breeder may have been a good move on my part :)

Apollo #1 is starting to really fatten up finally and getting closer to the size of #2. I am pretty sure now she is just a later flowering pheno. She has a more lemon pledge smell and her pistils are a little more orangey/off-white than #2, who has fairly white pistils and today I finally detected a real nice fruit punch scent. I had to add another tie-down stake to #1 and tie several buds up as they've added so much weight the last few days the branches can't support it (lower branches I trained up to the canopy -- some of which are bigger than the upper branches and close to main cola size despite being from the bottom few branch pairs). So I think based on how things are going that #2 has slightly more indica expression in it resulting in the quicker flower time and earlier development -- she looks like a 56-63 day plant -- I don't think she will be done in the next week so it's looking more like 63 days. Her buds are more foxtail-ish with whiter pistils. She is the most hardy of the 2 phenos as far as being able to deal with environmental/owner induced stresses. #1 has more spear shaped colas with the lemon pledge scent and a white-orange huge to the pistils. She looks like she will go at least 70 days. Taller and stretchier. So far from my test samples I am guessing the #1 is going to be the more potent of the two -- she seems to be the more crystal-ly higher THC pheno, but we'll see. They're both covered in trichs. My avatar is the UNDERSIDE of a #1 leaf. FYI - these buds (esp #2) are as fat or fatter than ANY buds I ever grew before of Apollo 11 under my 600w HPS -- and my apollos were not topped as many times and turned into bushes like these were (meaning topped bushes should have smaller buds than single main cola buds...) -- so I'm saying these cheap ol' blackstar LEDs can grow some damn weed. Even with many of the trichs still clear its better quick dried than the commercial shit I buy.

Look at all those fat buds!!! I clipped the last of the small bottom branch buds that are actual branches -- all but one were from #1. I am hanging the branches in a closet to do a full dry on... I'm gonna be out of commercial shit in the next couple of weeks so want to get them prepped to get me through til harvest rather than cutting and quick drying on the toaster which who knows how much THC it wastes.

Yes I have clones of both apollos in veg, but no cuts from others. I'm going to try to take cuts from the sour kush and the apollos again before they go back into flower but other than that waiting for my next round of TGA seeds to go in to take more clones.

#2 is definitely the winner so far for growing/yield it seems like but I'm waiting to test final cured buds before making a decision on which is the keeper... if they're fairly different highs due to the variation they may both be. I'm hoping for #2 to come out on top only since it seems like it'll be the faster finisher/bigger yielder with less problems to grow... but it's all about the high after all. I will probably do one or two more runs of both cuts though since I may see differences in the older cuts on potency as well.

Well if you some how run out of plants to run, I've got way too many cuttings, and the girls already need a haircut
