figured I would start a journal for this grow incase anybody is interested in either strains or wanting to see results from a cmh grow. this won't be as detailed or involved of a journal as I usually do. but I'll do my best to keep it up to date.

here it goes...:

Genetics: Blueberry Fem. Southern oregon seeds
Lemon og fem. Southern oregon seeds

medium - Fox Farms ocean forest mixed with Happy frog, worm castings and perlite. 7 gallon pots.

Topped once , then trained and vegged for 6 weeks under 630cmh.

lights : Nanolux 630cmh. 1 - 3100k phillips. 1 - 4200k phillips. Nanolux 315w cmh. 3100k phillips. in a 5x5x7 tent.

Nutes: General Organics bio bloom. Bio bud. calmag. mammoth P. molasses
.
currently just finished up week 2 of flower . all 6 girls are doing perfect . all are green and lush. branches are thick from what i suspect due to mammoth P. I've always done light feeding every watering since general organics is on the weaker side of nute strength . nodes are nice and compact. stretching is very limited when using cmh . here's some pics. I'll post updates afyer week 3!20180404_232523.jpg 20180404_232526.jpg 20180404_232536.jpg

Looking good. What kind of heat do those CMH put off? I'm looking into the 630 Nanolux myself.

You're going to get some good smoke off of those.

actually , surprisingly enough. if using larger than a 4x4 tent. the temps are very manageable . I'm only using a single 4 inch inline fan for exhaust and a 4inch exhaust for an intake. temps in the tent range from 75 - 80. the Lemon OG seems to love when it gets up to 85 degrees . it's really odd actually. doesent seem perked up when it's 75 degrees but soon as i get it over 80 they perk right up. I've already done 1 round with the 630cmh. didn't yield what i hoped only because i was growing 4 different strains. but the quality was better than anything I've ever grown. these cmh surpass all other lights when it comes down to quality smoke

Thanks for the info. I have a 4x4. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a 630 CMH. I'm wishing now I would have gotten the 5x5 tent like you have. That extra foot makes a big difference. Oh well.

yeah the 4x4 was hard to manage heat in. as well as the 5x5 really allows for extra air circulation. Apollo horticulture has good deals on 5x5 tents. 630cmh damn near maxes light out in a 4x4. here's a pic from my last 4x4 grow using just 630cmh20180122_155509.jpg

Nice! I like the fact that you can take pictures with the lights on and it doesn't mess up the picture. I've really been thinking about switching to CMH.

it's also way easier to spot deficiencys so I'm always able to get ahead of it. man....this 945w of cmh has some serious power . I've been lightly defoliating these first few weeks to keep canopy open with airflow and allow lights to penetrate a bit better . having a mix of 1. having 2 fixtures for light spread and better angling for side lighting . 2. combined with the power of the 630cmh and I'm sure this thing can keep up with a 1000w hps no prob. I'm already seeing a load of trichs coming in. some of the bud sites look like pure pistils flower bouquet lol. very thick and tons of them tightly packed together . excited to see how this run goes . one thing i love about these cmh. the facr my plants stay healthy all the way through flower effortlessly. it really is umbelieveable a single light source can make that difference . I think the UV is the cause of that

looks like a cheap cheap set. the lid that seals the hood is only gonna take away the uv benefit as well as some power. the nanolux may not be double ended. but they run cooler than the double ended. I garuntee you that thing puts off some heat

so the 3 blueberrys are doing just absolutely perfect . for being one of the more difficult strains, this strain of blueberry seems to have very good genetics. not even to week 4 and branches are fully filled in with bud. lemon og are about done stretching and can see so many colas that will fill in by the end. this 945w of cmh are really producing some damn good growth 20180409_145919.jpg 20180409_145804.jpg 20180409_145810.jpg

Cool, just had a geezer..gee the end result looks fantastic GJ.and only vegged for 10 days?

What was the reason for swapping out the 315 in favor of the hps..

ok so here's about as good of am update as I can give. I finished them off with 9 wks of flowering using General Organics bio bud and bio bloom. along with Mammoth p and molasses. MAMMOT H p is great stuff . really seems to make a difference. all in all I only ran that extra 400w Hps for a week or two. temps where I live started to increase so I finished the last 4 and a half weeks or so under just a 630cmh with 2 3100k bulbs.. the tent could of fit 9 plants easy but only had 6 in there snd still yielded 700 grams of top shelf big buds.

Smoke review

Blueberry - 2 of the 3 phenos turned out smelling very sweet and having that notorious blueberry smell. of the other pheno was very skunky and earthy kimd of. still curing out but they all 3 got so effing frosty and dense. very good heavy hitting smoke. smooth. again more terps will come out when it finishes curing . blueberry is roughly 60 day cure.

Lemon Og. none of the 3 turned out citrusy or lemony. imfact , 2 of the 3 turned out smelling kinda spicy, garlic , earthy , with some classic og skunk in the after smell. the one other pheno that smells completely different , smells soooo sweet, and almost fruity. i feel like this one was probably really close to that citrus taste they designed for it to have. I'm sure after more years of stabilizing there will be more oppurtunity per seed batch. here are some bud porn. next grow will be under my 630cmh again running strains gorilla killa and pineapple crush bred by Sour seeds co
