90w LED vs. 250w HID

So guys,

What do you think is better a

90w/86w UFO or Blackstar (apparently equivalent to a 400w HID although we all know that's not true)

Or

A 250w HID?

Well the LED will obviously use less energy/produce less heat. Quality wise it depends LED seems to make very trichrome laden buds. But i would say for Yield i would give it to the HPS, put a couple clones under each and get back to us with an actually account for an answer

I don't have the gear for comparison!! I wish... My boy left me 2 UFOs and 2 Blackstars, about 90w each, storing them in my closet so he doesn't get in trouble by his parents having them around the house.

Borrowing one for the moment in my 2x2 (he uses all 4 in his 4x4 when growing)

Was gonna buy a 250w HPS but just figured, heck, if these LEDs are supposed to be twice as powerful (even though they're not) couldn't they at least be as good? Plus with less heat and energy savings I almost feel like it would be a better bet to just buy one off of him.

So, knowing very well that a 90w LED is nowhere near as good as a 400w HPS, do you guys think it would at least be slightly better than a 250w HPS?

I'd love me some nice trichs but I'm trying to go for yield too!!

I'm not trying to compare LED to HPS, just a STRONG led to a WEAK hps.

Any more thoughts folks?

You should see what Sr.Verde grew under his 250 with Barneys Farm Tangerine Dream. Filled many, many mason jars and has the journal to prove it! I was blown away by the yield and everything. Check it out...
